I don't disagree that the system is VERY broken. This is not the solution however.

We need brackets. We need a matching system.

Those things are coming at some point.

Forcing everyone the to be the same is not communist?

I am fine taking worse gear than many people. As in most games, gear HELPS, but it is not an instant win. As an example, the most fun I ever had in WoW was speccing fury and using Lobotomizer dagger when every other warrior on my server was arms with Unstopable Force. I wanted to be different and I enjoyed defeating cookie cutter builds with something out of the ordinary.

I don't want to be the same as you.

EDIT: Quote wasn't working.

In order to "unbreak" with brackets and match-making would require Expertise-specific brackets at level 50. That seems like a horribly inefficient setup for PvP.

Why not just create a third dimension. You dot need to re-invent the wheel.
Its all there WarZones etc just needs a patch.

So PvP and PvE stay as they are with all the rewards.

But you then have a balanced PVP (BPvP) zone also and you can choose between the 2, as and when you feel. With all the obvious Rewards/stuff you could aquire from these war zones.

You can imagine the tension of egos of big guilds playing each other in these zones and I imagine others would be to scared to show there face and remain in the standard pvp WZ. While the most skilled get the respect they deserve.

I can imagine comments such as "Come play BPvP and I will kick your ***! "

People QQ here about PVP because from past experience, pretty much all MMOs that had fun PVP experience had very little gear affecting the PVP experience(like UO, EVE, DAoC, early AOC)

However, all big name MMO's thesedays follow the WOW path and we just want another decent PVP game to play.

SWTOR is still new so if it chooses the right path, it can be a pretty good PVP game which is what we want.

In this game the only way that champion gear will give them the edge is if they are equal in skill with me. This game has a great balance between gear and skill and the best PvP gear is easy to get.
while i somewhat agree with this, i also disagree. chances are...the level 50's you're 1v1'ing with your level 43 are the ones that exploited and or were the premades that stomp pugs. i disagree that champion gear gives them the "edge" only if they are equal to you in skill...because it seems like when you see a level 50 in pvp, the only way to beat him/her is with another level 50...or multiple lvl 30s....they walk in straight lines in PVP, they don't move, or break LOS or anything..they just walk where they want, and kill who they want.

it really is sad when my level 27 powertech (in defense spec) can be in the top 3 of damage charts, have more protection points than anyone else, and have more medals....and still be half the level of the "level 50s" in epics. i've seen level 50's in huttball...RUN THE WRONG WAY. cmon now. if you're in 4 pieces of champion PVP gear, running the wrong way in huttball....there is something wrong!

you being able to kill a level 50 1v1 doesn't mean that the gear is bad, or doesn't work, it just means that these people lack skill..but have more play time than most users. in PVP being level 50, and having 17 hours a day to play, should not "benefit" you more..than the other guy. PVE yes...PVP no. i like the idea of a skill based PVP game. that's what the lower level bolster system does for pvp in my opinion.

correct. if you do nothing other than rush to level 50, pvp gear is easily attained. good job. you got to level 50, by skipping all of the world quests, skipping all of the dialog, and doing nothing other than PVP. this game is more than PVP and PVE. it's about immersing yourself in the experience. so the whole Level to 50 to be competitive mindset is flawed. i don't play this game to rush to 50 to get champion PVP gear....so i shouldn't be penalized in PVP because someone decided to skip the entire game to get to level 50.

I know that it will never happen, but you could have brackets with Expertise Caps on them. That way, people still work to obtain gear that would make them eligible to participate in higher bracketed matches. Those higher capped matches could provide some sort of incentive to play in them, even if its something as simple as titles, pets, or crafting schematics.

This is where I see the whole post going wrong.

Skill... There is no such thing in an MMO with different classes, the gear is the least problem when it comes to "Skill".

I don't care much for gear grinding in pvp and I agree its annoying as hell to start out at 50 (once the 50 bracket gets here) as a pvp noob, gearwise.

But then some class gets buffed, yours get nerfed etc etc... and suddenly it will be "Oh no lets all have the same abilities in pvp".

Where else would this lead?

Sad thing is BW absorbed mythic and regardless of what haters maybe out there against mythic they did do one PVP game right and that was DAOC and you didn't have PVP gear in that game.

actually there aren't any lol.

Find one game thats not dated with good pvp mechanics.

EVE online is the only one left but this one you are in a ship the whole time which gets old after a couple years
