Any idea if a faction change service will be made available soon? I leveled up a sith warrior to 30 but after watching the cinematics the other day, especially the one titled Hope i feel like i rolled with the wrong side. That female jedi was just bad *** and that trooper was all heart the way he tried to take on that sith malgus head on. Even though malgus got the better of him the trooper still showed heart and courage the way he charged him and then came back again with the grenade. If Star Wars were real i would definatly be fighting for freedom with the republic...

Go to Create Character. Click on the Republic Icon. Click Next. Select class. Select Gender. Customize Character. Click Play. Profit.
This just in: Expanding on an ending no one likes is not improving said ending. A polished turd is still a turd.

Cheaper option: create a new char in the proper faction.

Don't worry, once you realize that the Empire wins 80% of warzones you will happy with your decision.

It took years to happen in WoW, and that was a situation where the same classes were available on both factions. It will not happen here, ever. The Story alone would be unable to support it.

Sorry you wasted your time, but a faction change will never happen. Even though the classes mirror each other, they are not completely identical, so you would also need a class change. You get 8 character slots per server, so go roll a jedi and/or trooper. But please don't delete your lvl 30 Sith Warrior -- otherwise we'll have to hear about that "mistake" too.
TORtanic indeed. It's just like that movie that was hugely successful and made boatloads of money. This is an MMO. Whether you play with or see the other players is irrelevant to that fact.
