we started a guild with 6 rl friends - me my wife her brother our friends - a family and another old friend. Yesterday 16th person joined, everyone who we know in real life.
I've yet to see one person leaving the game, i've yet to feel population decline - just the opposite, i get insta PvP queue in 6 am, and in the prime time people around CTN stand in masses that it actually reminds me old iron forge. how is it possible we have such a polar experience?

i can do a wild guess. you are a teenager, may be just above your 20th birthday. you are a student, or a very recent graduee. you leveled very fast, with your friends, and realized, that, in fact, the end game right now is not yet flourishing, the bugs are annoying, and the game overall needs "polish". why not "norwegian"m btw? but still.

Since you are young, it really didnt come to your mind that it might be not the best idea to level that fast. Because you will end exactly like this - EVERY mmo at the launch was worse or on par with SWTOR (i do not know the examples of "on par" but i played not that many, 6-7 titles and only 5 of them from the very launch, so i am not a bold expert). And now you feel really disappointed. And your friends feel the same. And you start to log on wow occasionally only to find that its the same terribly, astonishingly boring game it was for past 2 years. You play Dota2 beta only to find that you cant really play the same game for 8 effing years (or 9? when did it start) in the new and improved clothes. you need something new, and you REALLY wanted SWTOR to be that something new.

You hurried too much, its not yet ready. You have to wait then reevaluate it. But you cant, because you are too young, you have friends who talk how the game is bad and how are they annoyed, so you come here on these forums to write down this Perspective.

I dont want to bring it like this, but you fail. Srsly, you just fail. You cant go play WoW - you will not be happy, thats obvious. You can wait for GW2 believing that it is going to be a Super Magic MMO satisfying you deeply from the release. But i bet that wont happen, never seen it happen yet, all the best grew from small into a something big.

So, you fail. I remember people talking like you about that now forgotten flop called "Rage" i think, a pure PvP pro game. Guys who wrote about it in blogs have much more in common with you then Goldmans analysts. The tone, the way of thinking, the attitude.
I dont have anything to add, just one thing - i pity you, and your friends. the game is amazing, and promising. give it some time, chill, go out, find someone to talk to. Then come back and be pleased.

Cheers.

Excuses, excuses.

Also, how can you be as advanced in the game as you claim and work 16 hour days?

You work 16 hours, I'm assuming it's a minimal half-hour commute there and back (bare minimum), so that's 17 hours a day, leaving for 7 more for sleep.

...how did you get this far in TOR again working 16 hour days?

This is a time-sink until Diablo 3 is released. That is all.

Hope you're speaking for yourself, and not for me.

Have fun with Diablo 2 HD.

unfortunately, this. i was very exited about 2 games - Dota 2 and Diablo three. after playing beta of both, i found myself completely lost. I just cant dig that, i played Dota since its predecessor - Aeon of Strife. I just CANT! i've seen it all, i need something new. Now i wait for ME3, and hopefully a better DA3 game then DA2 were.

Ill do what I do with all Diablo games... Ill buy it, complete it, forget about it for a few months, then complete it again probably. In addition to D3 ME3 is coming in March, however, I can play those and swtor, no sweat, they will just take more days to complete lol :P

Being at Wow's launch these forums remind me so much of those days. I hate this game it sucks and look at wow now. You all are fooling yourselves if you think this game will fail. Lets talk money and allocating funds to fix this game? You do not think they haven't already allocated the funds to fix it after spending 100 million to make it. Or what ever the ridiclous amount they invested in. All the OP is a stock broker. Some one who steals your good hard earned money like a lawyer to benefit himself. I know back when i was younger i tried the business.

Let see if i get the line right you want to go with this IPO for the long term because it has strong backing in investments from domestic and overseas. You pitch a new IPO every week or month depending on what your broker house is earning on. How you get more of teh cut. I am sorry i take my own advice wrong or right it is my own opinion or advice on what to do. I suggest you all do the same.

At least he didn't maintain that this game has or had 4-5 millions users like you did. Which means that you can't even use calculus for dummies

Come on mate, your ludicrous mask has been shattered pages and pages ago, just as much as your theories. just give it up

Nope, all he is is someone that says he's an analyst, but already demonstrated in his very first post that he's not. He lacks the very informational basics that would be necessary to perform that job.

It's basically nothing else than a failed attempt at a concern troll.

This and other things I've been seeing on this forum actually gave me an idea about an editorial I may be writing soon, on how the release of new MMORPGs with any chance of succeeding absolutely terrorizes some gamers, to the point of pushing them to troll like no tomorrow and even lie in order to try to give a game some bad press.

I think it'll be an interesting sociological article.
