Speaking of geniuses, geez!
It's a Quality of Life thing. As long as the trainer is there the only impediment is the time it takes to get to the fleet and back and the Credits. Credits are not an issue. Do you understand that? Those of us who want to PVP and PVE will do dailies and Crew skills each day to pay for respecs.

All the fee and travel wind up being are non-fun annoyances once you're 50. This game is about fun...or it should be. Having Dual Specs won't effect you or your RP buddies one bit.

Before you know it there is no more need of classes... just pick a random class and dualspec to be able to fill every spot.
I dont think anyone will ever ask for AC respec ... and I dont think i've seen in the last 10 pages someone mention tank/heals if anything someone did mention being able to play his characters and tank or dps or heals and dps you might have gotten confused there

This depends a lot on the design of said raids. If they're made so that you need exactly x of each class to clear it, then pures will fare better than hybrids.

On the other hand, if encounter 1 needs 3 tanks, encounter 2 needs 1 tank and encounter 3 needs 2 tanks, then the hybrids will fare better.

Edit: Of course if we restrict entering hard-mode content after it's underway, and disabling changing dual-specs. Switching roles mid-content seems lame to me, you just bring whatever's best for each encounter, with no afterthought about earlier or later ones.

The most vocal group mentioning AC respecs are those against it... they're just inventing a problem to take issue with, nothing new here.

I think pures will always be better then hybrids esp in SWTOR where now that I look at it the talent trees are so tight. you normally want your 31 pt talent and then have your handful left over which go into the bottom tiers of the other 2 trees for generic buffs

So no, currently the amount of hybrid builds is large enough, and BW actually made them work quite well. As soon as there's dual spec, the usability of such builds falls to zero, and people won't roll them anymore.
Of course hybrid is fine for leveling. But end game? Nah.

I'm still confused why we are all discussing this IIRC BW has already stated what they want with dual specs

Hybrids should be encouraged in end-game IMO. Otherwise everyone will just roll cookie-cutter 31pointers...

Why is it silly? Some people get attached to their one main character and don't want to, or possibly don't have the time to, devote to the process of leveling and gearing up another one.

What I don't get about the anti-dual spec movement is: You can already switch, that's what you are doing every time you respec. What exactly is it that you are against here?

Dual spec just means I can take my mercenary BH from the bodyguard skill tree to one of the other DPS focused skill trees. That's it. Dual Spec doesn't mean letting me flip between the two advanced classes. It means having two different talent tree build outs for the same advanced class. That's it.

But... what if cookie-cutter 31 pointers are more fun than hybrid builds? Why are hybrid builds arbitrarily superior to you? Just because they don't go with the norm?

I'm all for choice and I think including dual-spec opens up MANY more options than keeping it out, just for the sake of hybrid specs.
So begins the Organization
