Galactic Trade Network (Auction House) Suggestions

This. I get a crit of nylasteel through Investigation, to search for it on GTN i have to telepathically know that its under the Scavenging subcategory (nowhere in game does it tell you this, i had to google it to find out) as its listed as a "Reseached Compound".
What should be a 2 second job of type in the item to search for turns into 10 minutes of faffing about in the window, tabbing out to google it, then coming here to voice my opinion about how rediculously clunky it all is >.<

I really think it should be pretty easy to fix most of these problems with the GTN also, seems its annoying a lot of people.

What does Bioware have against search functions? Can't search the forums and can't really search the GTN, you can only filter out things little by little. As I'm still low level, that is my main complaint about the GTN. I wanted to know how much shadowsilk was going for and it took me forever to find it. I was getting it from underworld mission quests but it was in another crafting skill category.

You know... i REALLY try not to post negatives or jump on the bandwagon of *****y people. But seriously, *** is it with this AH. It is almost completely useless. It could be an all day affair trying to sell a bag worth of gear. With it not remembering prices, not being able to EASILY search for competitors, and taking forever just to enter the search criteria.


I honestly am not sure why you guys bothered to put one in the game.

I am an Artificer. I need some [Bondar Crystal]. Mouseover shows me that it is a "Grade 2 Power Crystal". I should be able to search the trade network for "Power Crystal" or perhaps more specifically for "Grade 2" + "Power Crystal".

Why should I have to search for Archaeology? First, I have to know that Archaeology produces Power Crystals. Second, I now have to wade through all the other items that Archaeology products, like Artifact Fragments and Colour Crystals.

Additionally, how should it deal with items that are produced by several crew skills?

I am a Jedi Knight. I need some medium armour boots with a strength bonus. I should be able to search for "medium armour" + "boots" + "strength".

At the very least, the "Usable by me" and "Usable by Kira Carsen" searches should work.

Seriously? Really? The GTN is not that bad. If any of you have played FF11 you will know what I'm saying. Nothing but crying on these forums. If it's not one thing, it's another. I have been using the GTN since day 1 and I have never had any problem locating anything. Darwin.

Not only a troll, but a bad troll. Trolling is bad enough, but to stupidly deny that there is a problem with a part of the game that is *universally* acknowledged as unfriendly and difficult to use and that is irritating and discouraging players all day long every day is just plain mean.

A response from BW saying something about this issue would be great.
Even if they just say that they are aware of the issue and will change it would help greatly.

I post things on the GTN every single day, and every day I get almost everything in return.
With the high deposits and repeated postings of items, I'm lucky if I break even.

Even posting high demand items such as mods, enhancements, hilts barrels and so forth barely sells at all.
The problem is not the price, I have tried selling items for almost nothing and still get them in return.

The current system is so frustrating because you need to know what category and then again subcategory items are in before you can search for them.
And even then many items are either mislabeled or placed in the wrong category, making it damn near impossible to find anything sometimes.

This could have been done better in so many ways and many of the suggestions in this thread has already proven, but BW had to try and be smart and it ended up just backfiring hard.

Some great points - well met. A lot of the functionality in the OP are products of add-ons like Auctioneer and Auctionator. Included would be features like average unit pricing and deal scans. But a that few I agree with most and feel warrant the most attention sooner rather than later include an item search field, and the ability to stack items. Right-clicking or shift-clicking an item (or stack) to drop it into the window's sell item block would also be great. But a search field is the real biggy for me.

Turning the GTN into a true auction venue would be nice to see down the road.

Didn't have the guts to read all 14 pages to find out that is the following there:

- Let us have our items on GTN more than 2 days

- Let us change the amount of credits on a certain item we are selling, ie. im selling a [Darksaber of WoW-Killer] for 10.000 credits and i notice that no-one wants it for that price, so i can drop the price down to 5.000 credits to see if ppl will buy now. (this idea goes hand in hand with my first idea]
