Apparently we get neither

I see a whole lot of people disseminating misinformation, acting like they're AAA game developers because they read blogs and forum posters.

You have no idea what the modified engine is like or if it's causing problems unless you have access to the code. Period. Stop pretending to have insight where you don't.

Well that might be it then, the game looks pretty neat with high graphics and I won't use any other.. Changing the graphical quality between Low and High has zero impact on warzone/IF FPS and everywhere else I run 60 FPS constantly (v-sync) so I keep the settings on high.

High res textures are currently disabled. Selecting that option doesn't get you high res textures. As far as the cores go, it uses two cores on my four core CPU and per the HeroEngine developers the render is limited to a single core. Multi-core support is a planned feature with no ETA. The engine will use other cores for network which is generally not that demanding (this is paraphrasing one of the HeroEngine devs). It could be other parts of the game are using the extra cores but it's not something I've seen and it's not what I've seen others report.
I can confirm the reflections. And according to Bioware's CTO and their Technical Director, they have integrated multiple core support into their version of the engine. I checked after the patch today to see if all 8 cores were being used and they were, although I've seen others report differently.

However, I don't claim that the game runs great on my system (yet) - Warzones and Imperial Fleet are heavy pain but it's a known issue and not system dependant.
It still does utilize my four cores (while GPU usage stays on super low in high populated areas, what's up with that?)

My system specs are;
AMD Phenom X4 955 @ 3.2 Ghz
4gb DDR3 1333Mhz regular latencies (cheap Kingston)
ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC @ 950Mhz core, 1gb version
Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
I have a X4 960T 3ghz (3.4 if it wants to turbo), and it only uses 2 cores at about 70%. I honestly have no idea whats going on its barely pushing my cpu but my fps is not so great. Video card is a gtx260 216sp, which is a 2008 card but its not slow. Can play battlefield on medium settings and be over 30fps in 64 player games the entire time.

That's funny, because I can max out every single other game on the market and not dip below 60 FPS with v-sync enabled.
I know its not lag free, but was using an example. 50k polygons on anything is overkill, 6-13k were prob used for the games characters.

That's really strange, could it possibly be an AMD driver issue? I remember I installed specific drivers for the processor earlier on - I called my friend and he sees all of his four cores used, he has 965 model of the same processor.
Regardless, the performance doesn't really change even if I tick two cores off from affinity - I don't know how well the modified engine utilizes the cores but at least they get usage.

I've noticed the game uses the GPU very little compared to CPU load.. Might be some unnoticed loop going on that screws the FPS for some CPU's.

Doesn't really matter what the specific cause is; the problem exists and needs to be fixed. I'm tired of having the game bog down my system like TOR is a state-of-the-art graphics engine with Ultra settings when the fact is, the game has very simple graphics and doesn't even have high-quality textures. Why should it perform badly at all? Whatever the reason it needs to be fixed. It makes me annoyed when I can play a game like Rift, that has far more detailed graphics, on the highest settings at 90+ FPS, and TOR is constantly swinging between 60 all the way down to 25 with inferior texture, lighting, and shadow quality..

You're right in that the issues need to be addressed, but feeding a mob speculation doesn't help.
