Arena system, Ranks, ladder and Cross realm implementation

What, exactly, does this game being Star War shave to do with making xserver WFs or ranked systems? Even if ranked systems are going to be added, I want you to explain your logic to me

So there was no PvP in Cata and every season in Cata was and is not considered the worst PvP in WoW...like ever? So bad the ladders colapsed twice, so bad MLG dropped WoW, apparently so bad you, your pro self quit the game.

I think you have some massive blinders on champ. Hacks have been in WoW for a loooooong time, and people who cant really PvP or Arena will use them here to. I wish I could be as blissfully ignorant as yourself.

First of all, let me say that I'm working under the assumption that you started playing WoW sometime after January 16th, 2007... Or at least, that was the first time you PvP'd. More likely you started after Arena Season 3, but that's based more upon the points you presented above...

Let's look at some of them...

A ranking system is in NO WAY the only way to show "how good you are" to major guild leaders and PvP organizers. In fact, from most perspectives beyond the narrow scope of WoW, it's the LEAST likely way to get noticed. PvPers are PvPing, not looking up your stats...

Here's a specific example since you've most likely never been in an open world PvP scenario in your MMO history... I'm on the field with 20 of my guildies, stabbing, slashing, and healing away, fighting tooth and nail for every inch of ground we take. You pop out in their back lines, and demolish 2 healers, we push on... OR... Our front line is going down, fast, and you pull up right next to our healing core and start shielding/healing/buffing the front line to keep them up... OR... On your tank, you notice that our healers get jumped by a few stealth DPS, and you immediately run over, pop guard, and taunt them off...

THESE are the ways to get noticed in a large scale pvp game... Or, you know, being social always works... it's RARE that we have EXACTLY a full Ops group running around, and we'll be more than happy to pick you up for the duration of the ensuing battle... Oh, you did well? Like, really well? Have our VP contact him/her about joining...

A ranking system/ladder system only shows how devoted you are to grinding... Cause that's all it is... I'd rather invest time and group training into someone who maybe plays less, but has a job, and I don't have to worry about them paying their subscription to play every month than one who sits at home all day and grinds this game out...

As far as X-server PvP goes, (and the reason I made the guess at when you started playing WoW), It's what ruins a server's PvP Community... You know all those kids in BG's over in WoW who scream things in /raid like "L2P Noobs!" and "You guys all suck ***!" and "Just let them win, maybe next time I won't get such a S***** group!!!"...? Well, they're now learning about what it's like to deal with accountability on their own server... They're saying to themselves "Wait a minute, why won't anyone group with me for Flashpoints?" and low and behold they just so happened to be in with a 4 man premade of a top guild on the server... And here's a fun fact, in games other than WoW, All of the top guild's leaders know each other, theorycraft together, and compare strategy... ESPECIALLY IN A LARGE SCALE PVP GAME!!!

The *only* point I agree with, and it was through no fault of your own that you made it, was a Ranked Warzone Mechanic that lets us queue as full 8 mans... Not in groups of 2 or 3, but as 8 people playing together to show who has the most cohesion (read: skill) as a group for the purposes of winning at PvP... Huttball is already set up to do this, and I love me some Huttball... Mostly because WoW only players can't wrap their heads around "Wait, I have to fight the other team, AND the zone?!?!?!?!?!11 /brainexplode..."

For now though, I'm eagerly anticipating the bulk of players hitting 50 so there can be some truly epic Ilum (read: Praag, RvR, Tarren Mill before your time) battles...

As for your comment on content... The leveling content is just as valid as the end game content. Those casuals who just want to play through all 8 story lines (16 if you count light and dark) are the ones who are paying every month for development to further the endgame content. Sorry, but it's true... Very true... And even more so is that your rare breed of "I'm elite, I'm unsubbing til you fix this," are obviously not contributing to getting what they want.

Here's the long and the short of it... Who am I? I'm a hardcore, "elite" player with many MMO's under my belt in which I have been PvP lead or guild leader for some of the hardest content pushers on our server. But I also understand that the payoff of a World, large scale PvP outline is far more satisfying and grandiose than hitting 2400+ in arenas. I've done both, and still am not too impressed with the arena side of things.

So you want to try new things and drag them same game plauging problems into the new game? I'm sorry your logic is just plain off kilter sport. It cannot and will not work in TOR, or any other MMO unless every singlle DPS class does the same damage the same abilities, same goes for healing specs, it just does not work in MMOs and it degrades the games that have attempted them.
