When are you gonna fix this green laser light show...

I agree! BW needs to make this their top priority. Never mind that there are dozens of other bugs that have an actual effect on game play, this display bug that doesn't affect your game play in the least must be fixed ASAP.

Never mind that there are people who can't complete quests, a display bug must be fixed first. Never mind that there are characters who randomly fall through the world and die, a display bug must be fixed first. Never mind that BW has dozens of other things that affect more players in more critical ways, we should all cause a scene and throw a fit until they fix this display bug that doesn't hamper our ability to play (other than drama queens who will say it utterly destroys their gaming experience to have a green light in the sky sometimes).

Never seen it. The pic on page two looks awful though, so am pretty glad it hasn't affected me.
Space, is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space...

IT simply is a graphical glitch in the coding. I have experienced it on 2 different computers one using a nvidia card and the other using a ATI card which cpu and gpu are watercooled. The issue always happens in the exact same areas. As other have mentioned i pretty sure it is to something to do with with those laser towers/beacons.
I respectfully disagree.

It is all of those and none of them.

People always assume seeing the same symptoms means the same problem. If life was even half as simple as that games would be alot less buggy.

In all likelyhood all the potential issues listed there including the one you have decided is the only possible cause are involved in causeing this apparent single bug. This of course makes a fix alot harder, as it makes tracing down indicidual casues and fixing them more difficult, and makes it more likely that fixing it for some makes it worse for others.

I only have expereinced it on Tatoine, many are reporting it as far more widespread, some it never happens to. This suggests its far more complex than a simple bad coding as that tends to manifest more consistantly.

Only see this on republic worlds, i.e. if play empire side it's not there.... but on republic it is. Betting most of you that don't have are on the empire. Play JK, or consular and get to the first town next to the jedi temple and you will see it (around lv 5).

Oh good grief .. no need to grief folks for trying to sort out what is happening or why ! Most everyone is being civil and trying to help each other sort out the issue.

IMHO you attitude stinks !

[ scratches head ] ... probably some truth in there. That is why getting solid input in a helpful sense of the word is so important ! Any input that might help all of us out is definatly appreciated.

The effect the original poster is talking about is caused by a tower with a gold-green laser effect at it's center. These towers are typically found at taxi points (any world). Adjusting your camera view can make it go away or make it worse. It's annoying but has no effect on game play. I have opened a bug report, which is really all we need to do. I have faith that it will get prioritized and fixed... eventualy

It actually is simple, in editing the lamp post/beacon that the green spray/plane always intersects the person doing it didn't properly terminate the vertices. They probably deleted a node in the graphics map for that particular object and broke it. It's really easy to do and will not consistently show up.

If those appear for you you'll notice they ALWAYS intersect the top of the green energy beam in the lamp/beacon object.

Pretty my anywhere there is that cylindrical pylon with the green vertical laser in it I see this problem. From the top of the cylinder a ever spreading wall of green extends to the horizon cutting the view pretty much in half.

It's clearly a problem with that particular model and the laser texture coming out of it. Seems like an easy fix, but what do I know.

I am with everyone on this. It would be nice to fix ASAP. I will not be quitting over this bug but I would love to see it disappear. But I am also thinking this is a tough bug to fix.

What's odd is when I did an early beta of the game this bug was not present. Then when I started on the Stress Test beta prior to launch it appeared. Not sure why but since Stress Test this has been a bug.
