So just keep buying the gun, take out the mod, and put it in your armor.

I did not actually try this but I only bought the gun once so far. I will try it soon probably.
This isn't really worth it at all. Tried it at level 35ish. Getting 3 of these gave me either a .91% or .98% boost. Granted, there were a couple times I surived something with 80 health, in which case that .9something% saved me. But really, if I just used a flat out better mod in its place to continue stacking main stats, it's not useful.

Oh. My. God. Seriously?

That damage is soooo negligible it's not even funny. If you want to run a real test don't crunch numbers, just put a great PVPer in PVE gear against a decent PVPer in PVP gear.

The only problem expertise is going to cause is when a great PVP player gets a hold of it, then the baddies are in trouble.

What are you talking about? You take the regular gear advantage people would have in a no bracket system and then you add a 20% advantage on top of that... how much of a math penalty are your "skills" supposed to overcome?

This is how you fix the Expertise problem in this game:

1. Remove Expertise as a Stat -- There is no need for a PvP stat in a well-designed game. All it does it create a gear gap between the haves and the have-nots, deters new players from attempting to try PvP, and thus lowers the PvP population. This directly diminishes PvP most vital requirement -- participants.

2. Make all Primary and Secondary stats identical between equal tier PvP and PvE gear, except for a PvE specific stat -- For an example of what I mean by this, so the following:

PvP Helm Stats
500 Endurance
400 Aim
135 Crit
100 Surge

PvE Helm Stats
500 Endurance
400 Aim
135 Crit
100 Surge
50 Poise -- This stat would increase your damage, healing, and defense rating by x% when you are in an Operation of Flashpoint

BOOM! You have a system that isn't broken in PvP due to Expertise, and a system where PvE gear IS NOT better than PvP gear in PvP (they are equivalent), but PvP Gear has x% reduced power in PvE.

Yep. PvP players are better at pvp than pve players? NO WAY?

That's pretty much exactly what I proposed, but the other way around. But the "true PvPers" gonna whine that PvE scrubs have equal chances

It would be easier to add new tier gear for PvE this way tho, just slap more Poise on it.

As someone who PvPs more than I PvE I too would like to see Expertise removed. I would rather the difference between PvP and PvE gear only be visual and set bonuses.

No need for a PvP stat. PvP rewards should give an alternate way to get great gear -- and perhaps a top raid equivalent weap. It should also be a way to get PvP advantage items, such as a mana drain click, or breakout, or sprint click, etc so that you have some nice tools and rewards for PvP. Personally, I don't think it should otherwise be top raid equivalent, but a nice alternative to crafting, hard modes, and lower tier raids.

A PvP stat does nothing when all have it, but just allows those who get it first to have a huge advantage to those who are already much weaker. PvP stats usually just lead to even worse game mechanics.

or... and please don't shoot me for suggesting this.

remove the pve stat (poise) and instead of making instances progressively harder through stat/damage inflation, how about they make them more challenging on an intelectual basis, where each new boss that's introduced has a unique mechanic that hasn't been in the game before.

shocking idea, i know... but i'd rather see something like that, and have the loot from it have equal stats but new unique looks, than face the problem (and it is a problem) of permanent inflation every patch.
Bruglir Fellblade - Dark Jedi.
Guild leader - Vulgar Display of Power
Tomb of Freedon Nadd

If only... I would love to break this new tradition of gear inflation. Unfortunately, I think GW2 may be the only first rate MMO that tries this.
