A more powerful fan/heatsink placed on the card alleviated the problem.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm trying to provide an alternative solution. Most heatsink/fans for video cards are relatively cheap, and it's beneficial regardless if there is an issue or not.
The case I have is done very nicely and has no heat issues at all (Cool Master: Cosmos). As you say, I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just offering information to help get to the issue. (please, no disrespect intended).

agreed ... btw.. if you walk through it ... (it's razor thin) everything else is just fine as you move through it! The rest of the graphics are fine. Good textures (for the most part ... but that is another thread). I LOVE the game BTW.

It happens all over the place, on almost every planet.

I think it's caused by those pillars like in the first image.

I see this quite a bit as well near speeder locations on one of my computers, have no trouble running the game otherwise, but this is quite headache inducing. I'm running an Nvidia 560Ti 1GB on that machine.

My other machine's a MacBook Pro that's I'm using BootCamp with and have not seen this issue at all. It has a ATI Radeon HD 6750M 1GB.

The MBP definitely gets warmer than my desktop, so pretty sure it's not overheating though I don't have any firm readings on that.

Seen it too, really bad on tattoine. A single green neon line is annoying, but not terrible. However, when it turns into an entire green plane cutting have your display, then it's horrible.

I'm surprised no one has noticed it's a glitch produced by the beacon that typically sits near the speeder terminals. The bright green energy beam in the beacon "leaks".

Some GFX designer didn't properly make the object and it got copy/pasted all over the place. I used to have similar occurrences whenever I was messing around with level design in older games like UT and didn't properly align or overlap vertices. At least it's a light beam and not some opaque texture.

IMHO .. it's the same issue: thta "green line" is the same "plane"... just from a different viewing perspective. As we move around that line becomes a razor thin plane.

IT is not a nvidia issue
it is not a ATI issue
it is not a overheating issue
it is not a memory issue

IT simply is a graphical glitch in the coding. I have experienced it on 2 different computers one using a nvidia card and the other using a ATI card which cpu and gpu are watercooled. The issue always happens in the exact same areas. As other have mentioned i pretty sure it is to something to do with with those laser towers/beacons.

This is possible. As for why some systems pick it up and others do not ? Might be the higher end cards ?? dunno !

IMHO it's kinda like a seam that's been missed ... or a lighting projection that is incorrect.
