Why?

Because in years gone by, myself and a friend managed to single... ok dual handedly knacker the economy on an entire game server by buying out pretty much the entire auction house stock and then reselling at a level we felt was more appropriate, and we held it that way for several weeks till the devs implemented limits on players there.

We did it to demonstrate that the market wasn't working properly, and we made playing as a trader nigh on impossible for a lot of people as a result, whilst our bank roll's just got bigger and bigger.

Personally speaking, I don't want to see that kind of arbitrage messing about the economy in SWTOR. 2 or 3 people should not be able to dominate and dictate the market by virtue of owning all the products on it (including buying out and reselling other peoples gear) and in my opinion the 50 item limit is more than generous and currently still allows individuals to monopolize a lot.

Sorry, I know it sucks if you want to mass produce, but those are the breaks. It's harsh but it's a mechanism that protects your ability to trade at least as much as to the extent that it inhibits it. Scale down your operation, try not to flood the market with stuff that isnt selling, SLOW DOWN...
One of my good friends own the Auction House on Dark Iron. He has max money (1.2 million gold for those wondering) and has to quite literally give money away to people to collect more auction sales from his mailbox. He has the market cornered on 3 tradeskills to the point of anyone who tries to post anything regarding those tradeskills he buys them out and reposts them at a higher price. He has the apps on his phone to continue trading while at work, and in all terms of the word LITERALLY owns the market.

Don't believe me? Make a level 1 orc and run to Org to check the auction house. You'll see the name Bankett all over the place.

Lets be honest here, this is just plain stupid even if the AH worked right.
Just like this isnt WoW, it isnt SWG.

Don't post greens that wont sell anyways and there will not be any problems.

I put every green/blue/purple I get on the AH once, any greens that dont sell go to the vendor the blues/purples get a second shot before the same fate.

I've run into the item limit once after I listed a bunch of grade 3 and below mats that I did'nt need anymore.

I've never struggled for money and I'm not a slicer/ilum exploiter so it cant be that bad.

Also the 50 item limit does make things a little more inconvenient for gold farmers and professional GTN Donald Trump wannabes so it meets with my approval thus far.

Sure you can put them up for sale, but unless they are actually selling whats the point?
You are missing the point.
The system is broken. I did not have this type of prob on wow. Everytime you go into the auction house on wow unless it is 2 to 6am in the morning where you are it has plenty of people in it and an arseload of stuff to buy and sell.

The system is hardly broken lol. Vendor greens and sale blues and purps and you will be fine.

Abuse of capitalism should result in punishment.

The issue is that there are WAY too many awfultier green items being posted for sale. Seriously, go check out the 1-20 range: you'll find maybe 10 GOOD orange items, 15-20 purps, and the rest are GARBAGE vendorable green items.

People need to learn when to VENDOR stuff

I have no issue with the 50 item limit.

I would rather see another query selection for armor though to select by slot type first (ie, helmet, chest, gloves, etc).

Reverse Engineer your stuff while crafting. Greens usually don't sell. Also, don't list stuff at astronomical prices. When more people get 50's and more money gets into the economy, prices and sales will increase.

What does not sell, is probably vendor trash then or overpriced, even if you feel otherwise.

Since you asked though, I have no issues with the 50 limit. Keeps people from flooding the AH with too much garbage that no one wants to buy.
