Lets not forget that 8am - 4pm isn't Guarenteed times, It could easily go up to 6-7pm Like Last time, and that followed by Humongous queues. I luckily got on with a 5 min queue, 5 minutes after that my friend had a 30 minute queue. So.. I'm gonna rush back when I finish work.

You have the same problem as BioWare. You aren't aware that there more than one time-zone in EU. BioWare has this week grudgingly admitted there might be another, as they are now informing the servers will be down 9-17 CET.

Guess what?

There are *even* more time-zones in EU. I understand this is hard for you to understand, because it is hard for BioWare too. I suppose it is quite shocking to realise Ireland and Britain isn't all of Europe.

Here in Finland the servers are scheduled to be down 10-18, and if the downtime is extended again like last time, the servers actually will be up at 20:30.

But hey, I guess it is ok to have one day per week lost to maintenance. After all, I pay way more for the game than americans, so it must be ok, right?

You are either very ignorant, or you're trolling. I'm not sure which, maybe you can shed some light on it for me please?

If you have been laid off then you shouldnt be playing a sub based game money should be going in the bread tin

I do agree btw that they should be seperate times for EU/US

but its less of an issue than everyone is making out 90% of people will be working at this time yeah a few do shifts and the timezones are staggered a bit but really even if they didnt come back till 7pm uk time its np i can relax have a beer see my family and not rush tea for a game

You might make out that the EU is worse of but infact the real losers are Oceanic to the middle east players

Exactly right, and If they do Extend it and you try to log on at 20:30 you may be lucky and get on easily, or if unlucky might be 30 minute + queue. More more time lost. bad Bioware. tut tut tut

You might mean that the EU is worse of but infact the real losers are aus to the middle east players
90%? I think you are drastically wrong.

On your other point about AUS and Asian players. The game has not been officially released in those countries so it stands to reason that I would have to abide by the times of the countries servers I am playing on. But it HAS been released in Europe on separate European servers.
Space, is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space...

Yep I was stuck in that queue as well and it was much worse than normal for a week night due to the maintenance running so late.

This is why I would like to see the maintenance be scheduled to finish earlier, so that if something does go wrong they still have some time outside of the absolute busiest period of the day (for the EU) to fix it.

PS: this amusingly reminds me of the MMO that decided to deploy a major patch on friday afternoon, only a few hours before most (if not all) of the dev team was set to go home for the weekend... needless to say, it went horribly wrong.

Fair point but if bioware want to sub said players they have a duty of care to them imo

as BW state off peek times, 10am-4pm, kids at school (well should be) adults at work, so i see no prob in there times as im home at 6pm that day lol

also if they change the times to midnight etc it will annoy a load of other gamers, so they cant really win

Except for the fact that it's 10 AM up to 4PM for a minority of Europe.
Far more people have GMT +1/+2 and +3 as time zone.
When they extend a maintenance for two more hours it's for some people close to bed time because you know they work?

Neither is every one so willing to pay/wait for Bioware to put up the servers when you get a no ETA message and it's 20:00.
