I find that extremely funny.

An MMO is massive multiplayer, not features.

LFG and DPS Meter are not needed.

Leads to bad communities in game, and cookie cutter specs.

Instancing is great and I like it, but what trolls fail to realize is that they are going to go away.

OP, why didn't you research the game ahead of time? Actually, EVERYONE should be doing this, not just the OP.

Don't blame the game when you figured it was going to be something else. I don't blame my Audi A4 when it doesn't perform like an R8, so why should you blame SWTOR when it doesn't play like every other MMO?

I knew full well it was a mostly story driven "MMO". I also knew what that entailed (Guild Wars esque experiences). Seems some of you were thinking "OH **** STAR WARS WoW 5000000 person SPACE BATTLES WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".....yea no. READ about it first, it will save you money.

Make it off your newbi world. You are obviously ignorant of many other planets. And use spell checker next time.
Dromund Kaas is easily the worst zone I've ever been in in an MMO.

Well the game is neither massively multiplayer, and it lacks features.

And features are important to an MMO. I'm going from a game called WoW that has customizable UI, a basic combat log, and a LFG tool so I don't have to spam /1 all day.

Just because the data isn't tracked, it gives you an excuse to perform like crap and put points wherever? Well it's good to see what kind of standards you have.

If you want to get rid of cookie cutter specs (which ToR will inevitably have) then get rid of skill tree design that is 100% identical to vanilla WoW 7 years ago.

So, exactly how did you get to the notion that ToR is more an MMO in some 2 weeks than WoW ever was in 7 years?

How can you possibly have grouped more in 2 weeks than you ever did in WoW over 7 years, unless you were Mr. Social Mis-Fit in the corner hoping someone nice would ask him to play with them?

I'm not a WoW fanatic, yes, I've played it, as I have RIFT, Aeon, AoC, Everquest 1, Everquest 2, and a bunch of others. And I can honestly say without bias anywhere, SWToR is the worst game in this genre I have ever, ever played.

Voice acting does not make an MMO. Nice graphics do not make an MMO. A singular on-rails story with no deviation does not make an MMO. Arcade type ship battle does not make an MMO.

SWToR is a good single player, single-story game. Nothing more.

So far, I'm level 25. I've been in one group, and that was me helping someone else do a 2+ instance.

The main story is fine, the side-quests nothing more than mundane experience fillers. They are all the same. They are repetitive to the extreme, then they just get boring.

You cannot if you so wish, grind a level. Every other MMO I've played allowed me to grind or quest, which-ever I wanted at the time.

Because the game is so single-story driven per world, the people that are on that world are all doing the exact same quests at the same time you are there. Meaning, at prime time, you can waltz around areas without worrying about upsetting mobs. I've been in parts of the worlds where it was completely empty of players and NPCs. Then as the NPCs spawn, they're killed by those few passing through.

Crafting is a complete joke. You don't do it. Huh? Wha? It's an MMO, every MMO has crafting! Err No.. In ToR, there is crafting but you sit in front of your monitor and send some NPC off to do it. You just wait around scratching yer *** for 5 minutes, til they come back and say they failed or succeeded. That has got to be the worst crafting experience ever duped onto a consumer.

Ship battles. I've seen better arcade action on a Spectrum. Where's the MMO in the space battles? Maybe because I'm only L25 there is some later on? Go on, tell me there's more than me in the MMO space battles?

The bottom line is; SWToR is an MMO in the most relaxed, wildest of imaginations. It's certainly not massive. I can list Everquest 1 expansions that are bigger than SWToR. Yes it is multi-player, in that if you decide you want to do the 4+ instances, you need 2 or more players. Other than that you can quite happily play and never talk, never mind play, with someone else, ever.

SWToR, is a single story per character class, with nice graphics and sabre-rattling noises. It is nothing more and nothing less.

Now before you answer with some random kiddy one-liner, read what I typed and address the issues raised.

Please don't tell me you were tailing out of yer ***.

I did not like Halo after i bought it i did not find the need to post about it in the Microsoft forums.

Sometimes you buy a game and you do not like it that is life. Hopefully you will find a game you like better.

If you bought this game with other expectations, that is no ones fault but your own.
yea, i think my guild is kind of making a big mistake with this game. they are viewing this as another MMO where you make a quick trip to the top and raid your boot-a off... and it's appearing that the story and journey of each class and side is more of the enjoyment. I personally could care less about end game content and this point.. I have tried to get my guild into creating a republic side but there doesn't seem to be interest.. oh well..it's their loss than mine.

Really glad I downgraded from CE to standard.

I'll spend what I saved on Guild Wars 2 / The Secret World.
The best work never was and never will be done for money.

I agree on the instancing. Was on Nar-Shardaa on the only English RP-PVP server which is full all the time, and it had two instances and my instance only had about 45 people in it.
