Hate to be barer of bad news to both OP and anyone thinks this BUT...

TOR has same end game as other mmo's in the past... its basic same game as far as what end game entails. Operations are raids and we have our basic raid at launch same as most other AAA titles release now.

Wotlk: launched with naxmarus...worse was just a rehash of past raid
DCUO: launched with i think 2 raids? kandaq and batcave 1

are two off top of my head i know launched with raid content and most recent mmos i played(sorry didnt play cata long enough to remember its launch raid). Basically my point is this...people that think this game lacks end game are just blind... only thing that TOR does other mmo's don't is remove basic gear grind at 50. Instead of spending first 2-3 weeks grinding crap already done can jump RIGHT into first operation and enjoy the raiding scene with little effort.

End came consists of raiding and pvp... nothing has really changed and i think is biggest gripe... TOR does nothing particularly new at end game, its same routine with a new coat of paint. While i do so love leveling sections and can enjoy story i wonder if end game will hold my interest... still i guess i'm a pvper so i'll be satisfied.

Did you ever consider that many are sick of WoW and other MMO's and are completely disappointed and aghast at the horrible flaws in TOR?

The biggest problem for me is that there are simply TO MANY issues that BW will not fix fast enough, and this game will die as even the most patient of players loses patience with one of the very many issues it has right now.

Believe me I've seen it all before, many times.
^this
and op has no clue about mmo.
i came here because i got sick of wow. but, i get frustrated with the bugs in this game, that makes me alt+f4 or log out the game every 1h.

I'll keep this short but hear me out. SWTOR is obviously not for everyone, especially if you are one of those old school MMO traditionalist who believes the real purpose behind MMOs is endgame and etc.....

With that being said, they do not like how SWTOR has a focus on leveling and not endgame. They do not like how SWTOR is bringing in people [such as myself] who are not traditional MMO players but rather single player gamers whos ONLY reason behind playing SWTOR is the promise of story and the ability to literally play it as a single player game if chosen to. The haters fear that if SWTOR grows and becomes really popular, then SWTOR would be used or could be used as the benchmark for future MMOs meaning future AAA MMOs will have emphasis on story.....interactive dialog....cutscenes and everything else that SWTOR does with the 4th Pillar of story.

These haters have already made up their mind that they do not like SWTOR and will either go back to other current MMOs, or just hold out until Guild Wars 2. However, because they fear that SWTOR could grow, they do not want their current MMOs or future MMOs [GW2] to be lacking in population because everyone is playing SWTOR.

So BASICALLY, the people against SWTOR pretty much want to sabatoge the popularity of SWTOR with the hopes that everyone jumps off of the "SWTOR bandwagon" and play other MMOs or hold out for future MMOs. I mean why is it that the people who supposendly have cancelled their subscription still post here? Why is it that the people who have came to the conclusion that they gate SWTOR.....continue to post here? Why is it that the most passionate opinions about SWTOR tend to be the negative ones?
In order for all of this to make sense TOR must best WoW. This will not happen in a million years because BioWare's title is a much lesser game.

And don't forget that Blizzard is already hard at work in a new MMO.

Imagine releasing a space themed MMO, where players can fly their ships and explore planets at the same time. Imagine how stupid TOR will look then.

That's not what it is. Read it again, it's the system where any given population controls itself trough what thier peers thinks of them. E.i. like/dislike.

I agree, that some of those individuals exist. They believe that if they cause this game to crash and burn, then the industry will return to the old days off MMO, where forcing people into groups to do every little thing, is going to make things better. Essentially, they want their niche back. They want their "members only" club back. But they also want the development money to improve their little niche, money that large games like this bring. They want to eat their cake, and have it too.

But those people are the minority. Most of the "haters" are just attention wh**es. They stomp around, making lots of noise, knowing that will get people to notice them. And that is all they want. They know what buttons to press to get a reaction, because again, all they want is the reaction; they want to be the center of attention. Basically, your average "hater" is a permanent Toddler.

There are a lot of strawmen being erected and beaten with sticks on both sides here.

Personally, when I finish up my Jedi Knight's story I'll likely unsub for a number of reasons, the chief being that I just recently convinced a RP buddy to play WoW after years of trying. Turns out she likes the game, and a move to SWTOR is simply impossible because while her computer can run WoW great no medium it doesn't even meet the minimum here.

Honestly, my problems with the game are primary in my perception, and thus aren't really complaints so much as personal hangups and desires. The exception would be the ability delay. I just find the story a bit overly unorganized and really lacking in the epic quality outside of the class storylines. I find that I don't really care to repeat the stuff I'd have to repeat to level another character. Likewise, while I like the storyline, I find the choice wheel very limited. I realize this isn't a problem with the game, but rather with my desires. I feel railroaded, and I would rather participate as a roleplayer in a game that looks a bit more like a D&D campaign source book then an actual novel. I disliked Cataclysm for this reason, and I'm a bit heartened that Blizzard felt the linear storyline in the expansion was a mistake.

That aside, my two primary concerns are:

1.) That the VO and story development is going to really slow down the development if this game has legs. I'm fairly certain Bioware has a glut of content in the pipeline from development, and if they don't they deserve the rage they're going to endure for such an obvious fail. The question remains is how fast they'll be able to put out major content after the backlog is cleared.

2.) This game is going to have an abysmal retention rate if it does grow in size. I think about my friend who recently joined, and that's given me perspective. She died 22 times in Elwynn as she found her footing. One of the major concerns Blizzard has expressed is that something like 1 in 10 of the people who tried the game before Cata quit before level 10. Let's face facts, SWTOR's learning curve is quite a bit more ugly then WoW's. Take a look at something like the Valis thread where those of us who are experienced MMO players are rolling the guy, and other poor, newer folk are dying dozens of times in the process of trying to kill him. The thing Blizzard discovered is that frustrated people don't sub up from their trial accounts. I think, if they grow in size, Bioware will discover the same thing, and I think the fight over low leveling nerfs will be far more nasty here then in WoW given the fact that so many are saying this game begins at lvl 1 instead of the level cap.

Blizzard are going to have a hard time making anything successful which isn't WoW, or in some way related to it. The game is carried by its fame, not by how good it is (which it really isn't to be honest), and something new is going to be up against far more established titles.

Pardo from Blizzard basically said what BioWare is doing with SWTOR is "too much work" and they wouldn't do something like that and take the easy way out. Obviously many don't want SWTOR to succeed because they will have to do so much more work than easily writing quests.
