In most countries (and US states), you do not get refunds if you OPEN the software (or download) it. The only time you can get a refund is if the disc(s) are damaged. In the US, laws vary from state to state and retailer to retailer. Some will let you take it back for store credit, others won't

but as a rule of thumb: NEVER... EVER buy a game if you JUST meet the min specs. You're just asking for misery. If you want to play a game and enjoy it: 1) Meet the recommended specs or exceed them, 2) stick to console gaming (especially if your budget doesn't allow you to upkeep your computer to "gaming" specs)

Not true at all. Signing an agreement doesnt give anyone the right to break the law and misselling something is breaking the law.

Perhaps it's something that you need to get used to. Call it false advertising if you want, but after you make this mistake once, just learn and realise that minimum requirements are a bad thing to go on. Always check recommended. If it doesn't meet recommended, then stay away from it or get a computer upgrade. It's just the way it is.

Not sure what your specs are, but the problem is that they can't check what your computer specs are. How would they know what you have at home. Any claim that the product is not what you wanted, you can check, but I do not know if the 2 week return policy is valid anymore unless the product is faulty, since the packaging is opened. Just don't know.

what did you think it was going to be? this is pretty much exactly what they advertised.

- online > check
- story driven > check
- mmo > check

In order to tell a story, you need to keep some things linear. Story driven flashpoints have been really cool. Even the greatest open world game I've played (Skyrim) doesn't progress the story until you...do the story.

Not even going to bother to say the specs of my com.... Just going to say this:

1) BF3 runs awesome, so should also SW TOR.
2) 4 days ago, a friend of mine told me "Hey man I have a Korean account for TERA ONLINE (dont know if you are familiar with this MMO), but it has 100% better graphics than SWTOR.
I was like: M8, I cant play very well SWTOR, so no way TERA will run good on my comp. But I instaled the game, entered the Korean servers.... 15min after I bought it, and never entered SWTOR again... it runs very good, so its not my computer problem... its SWTORs

Agreed. He should just contact EA over the phone or through origin chat and explain the situation so he can get a refund.

Edit: If your system runs Tera, it will run SWTOR. My Machine is ancient in gaming years and only game lag I get is in warzones, not to mention I live in the Mountains and a 1mbit
connection is the best I can get. The problem lies somewhere with your system
likely driver confliicts which can be complicated and vary game to game.

Also I wouldn't announce that you are playing a game that requires you to have a
Korean SSN. You are likely breaking some law somewhere.

Just so you know its possible, one of the machines I have the game on is 5 years old...with a 3 year old (ish) graphics card ((Win XP, Core Two duo 2.66 ghz (2 core), 3 gb ram, ATI 4850 1 gb graphics)). This machine I have shadows off, bloom off, grass down to 20% everything else med or high and 4x AA forced through catalyst and I get 25fps ish in crowded areas and almost always 60fps (synced to my refresh) everywhere else (at 1080x1920). Even running through a Flashpoint with some friends I was still getting 40ish fps in serious fights.
That machine does have a fresh install of windows so its pretty clean and fast (for its age)

How exactly are they breaking the law? They didn't misrepresent anything. My computer -barely- meets the minimum requirements and runs fine on minimum settings. There isn't anything wrong with the game as far as that. Yes, the optimization is poor, but it still runs and is playable.
