Even funnier is your endless attempts to assure everyone that you have a real life.

Hey, I feel for you... I really do (not being sarcastic here). But you're just showing again that pro-LFG people only see two options. You have to have a tool to save you from spamming general... I get it. But what you don't get is that many of us don't want to see the game turned into a lobby game for free epic loots like WoW. It's one of the reasons I quit playing that game. I'm sort of on the fence for a same-server LFG tool, but DEFINITELY opposed to anything cross-server.
It's ok when you haven't done dungeons a lot. But after you've run all of the endgame dungeons 15 times, do you really think it's still going to be fun to manually put together groups, or a major hassle?

I can't tell you how many times I've run into the same issue the OP has posted. Where you have a group partially assembled, can't find the rest, and people get impatient and leave.

The real problem here is that you're outside the bell curve on levels. Anything over 30 is going to have very few people in that bracket. I don't think a LFG tool would help that. There's just not enough people to form groups. I was in Athiss a bit earlier and there were only 8 people in the instance. I would say low 20s is where most players are right now.

The moral: there's just not many people doing dungeons.

I remember the days of when you would spend 2 hours in Ironforge looking for a group to run Strat only to have my Bone-Slicing Hatchet rolled on by a priest who claimed priests need dodge when they get agro. Yes it was probably harder to find groups in EQ, UO, or whatever you played before me.

It depends man. Like I said, I'm on the fence when it comes to a same-server tool. At least it doesn't completely cover people with anonymity. People act like real ******s to others when they know they'll never see them again. It brings out the worst in people.

But when I play a healer, I find a couple of steady tanks that like doing content. One of them is almost always going to be available. Same with DPS. Or, since my main is currently a tank, I take a few minutes to meet a few healers. Its a lot better than a lobby game, for sure.

No one is obligated to change their plans for the evening to accommodate your FP.

Make more friends or suck it up.

People can play as they wish, and apparently they don't wish to play with YOU.

Best argument against a LFD ever.

Thanks.

I start off in the General Channel: DPS LFG Taral V

I spam the channel for a few mins and get another DPS to join, ok.

I flag myself with the super awesome LFG flag and make a note

I check the /who to see if anyone is LFG, 2 people with just "LFG" in the note and way under or over my level

I check my friends list, most people have either moved past it or can't/don't want to join

I asked in my guild, same situation as my friends list

I spam the channels some more, tried the Fleet and a few level appropriate planets

I spam the channels some more, other DPS get bored and leaves

I spam the channels some more, check the who list, ask in guild again.

Is this the awesome tight friendly and fun community I am hearing so much about? Is this what it means to be social?

I ended up calling it quits after about an hour.
Here was my super fun experience earlier this morning.

I was sitting around the fleet station doing some profession stuff, when a guildmate hollers out in guild chat "Anyone want to do Mandalorian Raiders?" Being slightly bored, I said sure. So having a tank and a DPS, we hung out at Fleet Station trying to find another DPS and a healer. I checked LFG, and magically found someone who both knew how to use the system, and actually inserted a comment. Sending them a message, I got a positive response, and told my friend to send an invite, giving us a second DPS. We all hit up guild and friendslists, and not finding a healer, went to general chat and posted up "LF Healer, Mando Raiders." After about 8 minutes, during which time I made vacated my bladder, changed my 3 month old daughter's diaper, and conned my wife in to making me a sandwich, we found our healer. Having a full party, we marched in to the great unknown that was this flashpoint. Successfully completing said encounter, I promptly added both the DPS and the healer to my friends list, accepted their request to add me to theirs, and parted company.

2 hours later, my guild formed a group to do some world bosses. We had a 7 man group, and felt relatively comfortable with our ability to complete the encounters, do to level spread. We decided to be nice, and threw out invites to anyone who was able to travel to the locations for the world boss. We promptly filled up the vacant 9 slots with people who were more than happy to join our group and drop the bosses. We started on Balmorra, went to Nar Shaddaa, and finished at Tatooine. Our longest wait was 15 minutes, as the last guy in the guild didn't have three of the travel points between the spaceport and Dune Sea. Not once was it difficult to get people to join, and we very likely could have formed a complete non-guild group in the timeframe as well.

TL;DR
Your experience isn't universal. I'm sorry your server sucks at the time you were playing.

Yeah, I think that might be a reflection on you more then Biowares fault (and im not trolling here)

Few ideas

NEVER SPAM, easiest way to get ignored is to spam a channel. Ask 2 times, move on.

Find a guild that actually likes you and wants to play with you cause appearently the guild you joined (probably advertising by spamming over general) doesnt want to interact with you.

Sounds to me like you want a tool that allows you to still get groups with people who are normally outside your server of influence!

We all make our own beds in game.
Sounds like you might have to reroll and change your attitude and habits cause if what you are saying, your being intentionally tuned out by your server community.

I know you wont like that answer but thats honestly how it reads to me!

And again, NEVER SPAM A CHANNEL! EVER!
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it
