Angle isn't relevant to anything. You can look at the cast bar and then look at the damage numbers pop up and look at the timer. You don't need to make an "unbiased" video to do this. You're just trying to delay admitting that you're wrong.

I think if mortar volley just fired off its rounds quicker to compensate for the slow rounds, it would be balanced.

is this the whole argument? the rounds are flying slower? even though the BH has a greater distance to target?

The problem is when you activate it you get the blue circle on the ground and people have a full 2 seconds to get out of the way before you start doing any damage. Death from above has at most a 1 second delay.

DEATH from above does not have at most a 1 second delay
watch the video and count it.. its almost 3

there's a second one.. again you can't watch the animation watch when the ability is clicked and actual damage starts taking place it is nearly 3 seconds.

Its the same thing with all of these threads, you guys are saying animations are slowing things down.. just because the animations are there doesn't mean that's when you've started taking damage..

The only one I think that might be different is the sage/sorc one, but I'll have to level both to actually speak intelligently about the comparison.

Took the times from the video timeline rather than using a stopwatch.

Edit: Times for anyone who didn't watch the video..

DFA started at 16.33 seconds, first damage at ~18.2 seconds. Roughly 1.9 second delay.

Unload fired at 22.2 seconds, first damage 23.6 seconds. Delay: 1.4 seconds before first damage tick.

Hmm...tried both of them right now. DFA is way faster than MV, even with animation.

you do realise your arguing against youtself right ? the 2nd video showned it perfectly, once he actually engaged the skill it was less than 0.5 seconds before first tick, which is almost 2 seconds quicker than the first tick of the mortar volley

this is an issue as the time you get to deal damage with channeled skills in pvp is limited due to the mobility involved, it is exactly the same with autofire and it comes from their added animation issues with the large gun vs handguns, this is beside the point on how superior dual wielding is to singel weapon atm.

then you aren't counting when he actually activates the ability from the time the reticle disappears on the floor from the click.

You obviously cannot count.

use the video times to help you he activates @ nine sure the missiles hit fast.. but damage doesn't start until almost 12
