I can safely say I have not seen one piece of software including games without bugs in my life.

"(I play as a 30 sniper and many times my abilities cancel for no reason, causing me to die and evently /ragequit)"

If this is in pvp, it can be from numerous reasons. E.G Sages can stop any casts, like counterspell if you will.
I can haz creditzzz?

Replace "eventually" with "SoonTM" and you get WoW...I hear it was able to "cut it" rather well in a competitive market.

After all they only had...

Rapture Bug last from Ulduar through WoTLK
Vanish failing and vanish immuning last from Vanilla to Cata
Charge/intercept jumping lasting from the start of the game until a very recent patch
Blink still continue to have patching issue
pet pathing is still an issue
Not sure they ever fixed the pet bugs on Ogrimmar arena
Hunter traps and Entrapment, magic effects, effecting rogues with Cloak of Shadows
Pets/Guardians following and breaking rogues out of vanish

I could go on but really I don't need to. Games don't have to be perfect upon release, and frankly, expecting a company to release and update a game in real time with perfect game play and zero bugs is rather silly. Hell I can still find bugs in big name console games, see Gears of War shield glitching, and they are no where near as complex or involved as this one. As long as they are willing to admit there are issues and work to fix them then I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt. If they, like WoW devs, decide to abuse that though and beat around the bush instead of fixing the issue then no I won't be near as patient as I was with WoW.

Well there was your first mistake. Thinking you are buying a finished product when you purchase an MMO will always lead to disappointment because by their very definition, MMOs are never finished.

So were my expectations too high when I expecting a video game on the shelf to be fully functional?
Perhaps, it depends entirely what you were expecting from the game as opposed to what the game ended up being. For what its worth, I dont believe there has been a single piece of software released that did not have bugs and glitches in it

Quote:
Or should I always just wait a year after the release of an MMO to buy it?
It doesnt matter what MMO it is or which company is releasing it, waiting a year after an MMOs release is generally the best thing you could possibly do. Doesn't matter if its WoW, Guild Wars, Star Wars or any other MMO, waiting a year from its initial release will have the game in either a far better position than it was at launch (and therefore a smoother experience when you come in) or a far worse position (F2P already, dwindling subscribers, ready to shut down etc) which is a good sign to give it a miss.

The main issue is, do you want to wait a year to play it? Most people do not.

I want to know your guys opinions on this. I feel like companies should be held responsible when they rush products out the door like this and the customers are the ones that suffer.
If by suffer you mean 'are able to play the game just fine' then yes. Games aren't going to be all things to all people. Just because you don't like it or are annoyed by certain features (or lack thereof) doesn't have to mean there is something wrong.

I bought the game and 2 months game card... I probably wont re-sub after that... I knew the game was meh in beta.. but the storylines were cool and it is Star Wars.. So 3 months in more than enough time to enjoy the SP experience the game offers.. Other than that its not much of a MMORPG and the PvP is complete garbage with the combat delay and animations issues and the fact that everyone from lvl 10 to 50 pvp in the same warzones..

Welcome to MMOs. Enjoy your stay. Or don't and go back to consoles. Thus far, for me, this game has been as good as it gets.

Rift had a better release with less bugs and it was a open world... So its not welcome to MMOs.. Bioware is a much more well known and high profile company than the people that made Rift.. Yet they did a better job at making a MMORPG.. Not only was everyone in the same world and it was not sharded but they had tons of NPCs spawn where everyone on the server would meet up and fight these big bosses.. and the game had way less issues...

I love the game however Its a mess, im quickly finding more and more things wrong with it, and im just hoping that in a few months most of the major issues will be sorted out.

I knew the game would have flaws, just not this many.
You seem to have lightning emanating from your fingertip's, could you please stop it?

Already fixed on the test server. THAT is why people said to give it more time.

It's actually relatively bugless compared to most MMO's at launch.
Han shot first.
