This makes too much sense for anyone on here, please escort yourself off the boards if your going to spew nonsensical statements with things like "logic" or "reason"

Man some folks calling this a single-player game are going to be disappointed with Diablo 3.

So this has to be asked..... what rock are you living under that you do not see anyone for hours??????????????????

I sense exaggeration in your statement.

And WoW is more of an MMO? SWTOR is the only MMO that encourages team play at lower levels, which gives it true MMO status.

Not sure if srs...

...or never played an MMO.

A theory?

There must be some applicable aspect to the term, otherwise it ceases to have any meaning.

My personal experience in MMO's negates your only "a hundred interacting together at the same place at the same time." That is an erroneous statement its best; a lie at its worst.

Take the lowest common denominator and anyone who's ever played it -- and I'm sure folks have seen more than 100 people at once in Stormwind or Org. Hell, I used to see more than 100 people at once in Paragon City at the height of COH's popularity.

Even outside city hubs, like the SS/TM area.

Ah, but maybe you're just trolling.

You mask it well, I must say.

If you re-read my post you will see the words "rarely" and "interacting together". Nor was my choice of the number 100 meant to be a statistical absolute. I was focusing on the point of what massively means in MMOs. It's about a population spread across a wide world, but interacting directly or indirectly through different touch points.

Sure you may see more then a hundred people In Org or Stormwind on a busy night. But 1) they are not all interacting together and 2) what looks like a hundred is probably more like 50-60 since people are porting and flying in/out all the time. The exceptions (ie: the "rarely") would be times like when there is a special event taking place that draws the people into town for something like.. I don't know... opening presents under the tree at Christmas time.

Given that the average server in WoW would have 3000 or so on line at one time, my point was that they are spread all over the world doing different things. Yet it is an MMO as they are massively interactng with a single world, albeit not in harmony of place and activity. In "theory", they could all converge on a single point on the server. In practice they never do.

Now, on the average night, I'm seeing the same level of activity on my server in Fleet as I would see in Rift in the capital city. Most would agree that RIFT is a MMO, so why do they insist that SWTOR is not??? It could be because they have not yet figured out where the social population hub (in other MMOs it would be the capital city) is and have not availed themselves of it. It could be that they are actually scattered across all the worlds, at various levels and stage of leveling and simply don't yet have time to avail themselves of "loitering" at a central hub yet.

Sorry sir they are this way <---------------------------------

The way he came in don't let the door hit you it swings hard.

MMO i think some people think they must see hundreds of players in same city as them to make it an MMO. As for waiting on hours for people. I know on my server at 40+ there not many but there are some. Most people are in mid 20's to early 30's. Another week they will be caught up.
