At 7.0 launch Pulse Cannon cost too much

In 7.0.1 it cost the right amount but lost 3/4 of its damage ticks

 

Now in 7.0.2 it costs the right amount and does 4/4 of its damage ticks.

 

I would like to now draw attention to the fact that Pulse Cannon does not gain the 40% damage buff from Pulse Engine.

 

It pretends to. The tooltip updates when you have the Pulse Engine buff to imply 40% damage buff.

 

Then reading the combat log you see that there is no damage increase at all.

 

Here is a screenshot to demonstrate what Pulse Cannon and Pulse Engine is doing. Once again compared to the imperial mirror of Heavy Flamethrower and its Flame Engine buff which has been working correctly the entire time.

 

In both examples the ability is activated once then after gaining the Pulse Engine or Flame Engine buff it is activated again.

What you will see in-game is the tooltip updates to display +40% for Vanguard and for Powertech when the Pulse Engine or Flame Engine buff is activated.

 

The difference is the tooltip damage increase stays active for the entire channel of Heavy Flamethrower and the damage is genuinely increased meanwhile the instant you press Pulse Cannon the tooltip snaps back to base damage and every tick of Pulse Cannon occurs with no damage buff at all as can be seen in the combat log.

 

As of 7.0.2 Pulse Cannon remains a broken and penalising talent choice for Vanguard tanks.
