Eillack
I'm very jealous right now. Not trying to make a "In your face post," I'm sorry if it came off like that; just trying ot describe some of the stuff I did with that feature. But to inform on another thing (and just look up the SWG vids frm the last days on youtube anyway), dueing the last day events, the city of Coronet was under seige by an Imperial Star Destroyer hovering right over the city with tons of escorts, and vis versa with the Rebellion sending a fleet and tried to take control of Theed. Seeing that I was Imperial on my main at that point myself and other were destroying a couple Rebel transports at Theed, but alas, Europe Farstar had too many Imperials at the Death Star II generator on Endor. So we never got to destroy the Nebulon B Frig. At least the Rebels weren't able to even dent the Imperial fleet above Coronet haha. But yeah, there were a couple "Kill X amount of Y" with your ship for hunting badges, etc, and then PvP via starship / air to ground was interesting. Flying thru Restuss in my Arc-170 was interesting haha...
Bigryuubi
I loved moments when I was in a Imperial group transport and watching the interior explode one terminal at a time while trying our best to fix the ship and balance out power. That was most favorite part about the game. It got crazy, very close calls, just got to hope that the armor would hold when the shields are down. Droids helps as well when we got weak and had to transfer shields that was cool too. Bring it back please....... haha!
NiborBinks
It truly was a great aspect of SWG that was deep beautiful and fun. I miss my ace pilot, my assortment of Tie fighters and hunting my quotas and I did the kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. SWTOR feels shallow rushed and to me it's not star wars or even worthy of to be associated with KOTOR. Instead of just trying to add more "rotoscoped" "jellymold" planets, Bioware take a long hard look at your preddacssor who you slayed and see what good you can take from it. Space, community are two things so badly wrong with this game. Edited September 4, 2012 by NiborBinks

Eillack
The one thing I found funny was that, when I was with the Rebellion before the Empire, I could solo the Imperial Star Destroyer in....in...my God! I'm starting to forget locations! The one sector that you can go via Rebel, Imperial, or Pirate starbase; it also led to Kessel. MastaKorgy
I wish swtor had swg's space combat, but this time it has to be so that friendly space ships can dock with each other, and u should then be able to run across both space ships. Also, u need to be able to have friendly duels onboard spaceships, like swg.

Eillack
Deep Space. So simple *punches wall* why did I forget that !? But yeah just the huge battles that went on in space or atmospheric flight, especially the battles on the last day were insane in SWG.
Tkerzis
I miss "Jump to Lightspeed" too. I may be in the minority opinion about the rest of the game no matter the era, vanilla, CU or NGE (come on, kung-fu poison-throwing doctors and magic diseased stone knives?!), but JTL was an incredible gem that the developers created under great pressure with an underoptimized engine and somehow it was still magnificent. Nonsensicles, imma let you finish, but Combat Upgrade was the biggest, most devastating event to happen to the world of Pokemon.
Iswo
I have read quite a few posts on this topic and I feel like adding my 2 cents worth. I also miss everything that came with the old game expansion... (Jump to LightSpeed). The PVE, PVP, Mining and being able to customize your ships yes I said ships (being more than 1). I also enjoyed not having my flight skill affect my character level and vice versa. In SWTOR they gave us amazing stories, companions to help us when we want to solo play, the ability to group easily with others when we want to but I do feel they failed on the space race at least up to this point. They gave us an escape pod on our ship but made no use for it I cant help believing that it's there for something that may not be out yet but is in the works for coming out. What I would like to see is exactly what SWG gave us seperate my pilot ranking and character level even if its just something that I change in my preferences, open space exploration and flight even if the graphics for it is less amazing than they are used to giving... because the space missions that they have now really does have some amazing scenery and is probably very difficult to maintain on a neverending open space area. I also think that PVP space missions would be something else, I can imagine a FP style introduction to a PVP event where space dominance is actually the goal. Personally I am a Bioware fan and enjoy their stories and games, I can understand that this is their first MMO and that therer is room for error. I think most of all what BW really needs to learn is that gamers especially those that play MMO's are very demanding and dedicated to those games that have and give them what they want. I think that Bio begins to really understand this we will get the things we really want like off the rollercoaster.
JekRendar
So simple *punches wall* why did I forget that !? But yeah just the huge battles that went on in space or atmospheric flight, especially the battles on the last day were insane in SWG. I never could master atmospheric flight. I kept crashing: over, and over, and over again. But, it was so fricking cool to be in Cnet, call your POB and fly directly into the Corellian System. Wait for it...and you only had one loading screen! Unlike TOR's obnoxiously plentiful screens.
Malefik
JTL why did I have to see this thread. First day it was out I ran to the flight trainer in Bestine and signed up for the "Storm Squad". Little did I know what I was in for. I had just signed up for the hardest space line in the game. Any Stormers here remember the 2hr. escort missions where you got pounded? I remember when you had to kill the corvette in Kessel when it was still a PvP zone. ( you were auto declared when you went there like deep space) How about the year long re-e projects or the freelancers that camped the deep space spawn point and hit EP3 as you spawned :). Ahh... JTL, re-eing that special reactor so you could run RO4, EO4 and WO4. The Jedi ship craze when you could have a 1v1 that lasted so long you would get a tell "lets call this a draw". The space community banned the jedi ship from pvp and we all stuck to it. We had large space events. Deep space where you could become a faction hero or a celebrated enemy. I remember talking a fresh enemy player back to DS by telling him I would unload my guns come back and get some practice. That was the pilot community in JTL. We had fun /;wipesEyes. Attacking around the Imperial generator on Endor was insane on my server on the last day, tons of fighters in the sky, and a crapload of Imperials and Rebels on the ground. Then my fellow Imperials had rocket launchers to shoot down player's ships haha.
Darth_Urtani
SWG was a fantastic MMO, SWTOR is a good single player game. If you want to play SWG again, check out (Star Wars) Galaxies Reborn.
maxetius
Bioware is too worried about adding more raids and more gear tiers than to worry about anything sandbox-ish. it will be their downfall.
GarinH
i miss it too, i like collecting ships and mounts (i had tons of mounts on WoW). i had more ships in SWG than i had slots for ships, i jsut kept them as deeds and swapped active ships out when i felt like riding i different ship. currently only having 1 ship in SWTOR is a bummer I loved my: YT-1300 Naboo N-1 Starfighter ARC-170 Belbullab-22 Eta-2 Actis Interceptor my top fav was the Eta-2 Actis Interceptor, that ship just looks awesome. i was questing to get the YT-2400 when i heard the game was shutting down and i never got it........ and i loved being able to customize paint colors and different paint designs. i would really love to get multiple(optional) ships. Campor_Ravensk
EVE is nowhere near as good as Jump to Lightspeed was for me. Not even close. It isn't hot-keys and auto-targeting unless you're only using missiles. I could go up in a Y-wing and have a friend in the gunner turret, or I could go up in my YT-2400 and have two friends in both turrets going crazy on anyone who got close. And just being inside a ship during a battle is some of the most fun I've had in that game. It was immersive to a ridiculous degree. EVE doesn't have anything as good as that. I never got to experience atmospheric flight, but if TOR got a space expansion, even if it was exactly like Jump to Lightspeed, I'd never land again. As long as I could pick/customize my ship and have friends join me in combat.
mefit
I love STO SpaceCombat , but in reality I like SWTOR just plain out better . JekRendar
i was questing to get the YT-2400 when i heard the game was shutting down and i never got it........ Fun fact: I never unlocked HK-47. But, for a long time, as long as someone was keyed for it, you could do it. And it just so happened on my second or third run, we rolled for the 2400 and I won. So, for 4-5 years I got to enjoy my ship. Having said that, I HATED it's layout. I've always been a fan of that ship, but I still can't forgive SOE for botching its layout.
