Drinking

So I am new to MMORPGs and I was just curious about something? Is there any guilds based upon simply drinking and socializing while playing? I think that would be fun. On a personal note, what is your favorite thing to drink while playing? Mine is rum and coke, also I eat pretzels while drinking.

There a few guilds out there for just hanging around and socializing as you play, as oppose to the more "Hardcore" guilds out there.

I knew of a few in The Other Game, but here I know one.

Also, my favorite drink to play is a glass of wine. It makes me feel classy lol.

I would join this guild in an instant.

My preference: Slammin shots of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, or Jager Bombs!

Pretty much shots of anything. Then when I'm smashed, I'll start in on the beers. During an all nighter, I can usually top off a bottle of Captain Mo, and a 12 pack by myself. But that's a terrible, terrible next day and I can barely talk by the end of it.

Most guilds have no problem with it. Grabbing a beer while running through some boring content, sitting on Vent making jokes, and having a laugh all fits very well together and I do that myself from time to time. The only time I have a problem with drinking is during progression nights, when people need to have a completely clear head. Other than that they can do whatever they wish.

Perhaps we should make a guild like this lol. The other night I made a SWTOR drinking game with some1 in general chat. I didn't write it down but I am sure we could do it again.

Not exactly sure what you mean about a guild based on drinking :p but yeah there are some casual guilds who just socialise and play together a bit while naturally enjoying a beer or whatever.

I'm in a semi hardcore guild and people often grab a beer during raids etc. But generally were focused on raiding. Where as on Saturdays we have the alt/fun raid, generally just havin fun, occasionally one or two people getting a bit too tipsy that they can't play very well :p

Depends on the guild though. I remember in WoW we had a sort of strict no drinking policy. Obviously you can drink nobody's gonna know but I think too many people ruined raids in the past getting wasted.

Unfortunately I'm unsubbed until they do server merges, and probably add their open space project that they're currently "working on" and will come "in the future" or I would definitely do it.

So I'd say really try and find a casual guild, by the extremely small chance you're Republic on the Krath server, I could point you to a really fun casual guild who don't really do raids and stuff, they just help each other out and form groups for FP or Heroics.

It's pretty much a requirement to drink whenever we're doing anything. We have a couple designated drivers, but they're cool too. Well, as cool as someone can be when they aren't drinking with you, anyway.

Jung Ma, Nihilistic. Feel free to hang out some time.

I drink all the time when playing. But I mostly PVP... it takes the frustration out of dealing with noobs and carebears.

DOC's: Porters, Stouts, Trappists, Jacobites, Lambics, Vodka mixed with just about anything I happen to have, same goes for just about any other liquor that I may have inherited from various sources, with only exceptions being gin, Canadian whiskey, and rum... it just never ends well with any of those... except there usually ends up being a hottub involved when there's rum, can't quite explain it, but I'm 74 for 74 ever since I hit 16 when there was rum involved...

btw, 31 and counting atm...

If you are new and have yet to create a high level character or are willing to change servers, there is, some where in these forums, "The Ultimate Guild Quiz" which may answer your guild requirements.

Not all of the guilds are listed, as they must submit basic information that they exist, but there are a few and the numbers have grown.

Happy Hunting, may the Force be with you. :)

Not exactly a social story but this drinking thread reminds me of a few years ago (when Kara was serious) our guild's OT was notorious for imbibing during a raid. Not too surprising when he fell off an upper walkway into a mess of elites.

The rest of the night was like a bad re-make of a classic horror movie where the cast get it one by one. First our main heals because he thought he could climb down and just get into range for a rez. Nope he aggro'd a mess of elites and died. Then MT and off heals went...nope they both died. Then a couple more...after 45 min of failed attempts over half our raid was dead. Then add some didn't have the key to get back in and an Alli guild was camping the front door. ><

Ultimately we wasted a couple of hours before calling the raid. It was funny in a masochistic sort of way I suppose.

I like to drink good porters or IPA's if I am just screwing around running easy stuff, but they usually higher in alch content, so i'll stick to a few bud lights if i got to be serious. I was in a wow guild that would sometimes play the raid drinking game on weekends. I don't exactly remember the rules but I know if you died you had to chug a beer. Wasn't the best idea for progression, but we had fun with it. Edited by Rompdomp

When soloing dailies for comms I generally drink a couple of beers, nothing more than a can or two per hour - just because I've done the Illum and Belsavis dailies a dozen times doesn't mean I want to be genuinely drunk.

Me and my guild have this drinking game in Warzones.

Total number of medals earned by your opponents/the number of opponents = number of shots.

Opponents goal in Hutt ball x 2 = number of shots

Opponents bunker/ship's health /4 = number of shots.

Your total deaths in a PVP = number of shots

Total heals by the top healer from the other team/ total damage of your main DPS = number of shots

Top opponent's dps damage in total/heal by your top healer = number of shots

Btw, I prefer peroni's and Red stripes

If you're looking for a guild that focuses solely on drinking, perhaps you could create a Frat-Guild? I'm sure a lot of people would join. Other than that, I'm sure if you asked on your server a lot of people would share your interest.

Great. Video games already get a bad rap: anto-social behavior, contribute to obesity due to lack of exercise, increase in violent tendencies. Now we are gonna start hearing about contributing to alcohol abuse. :D

I'll drink to that:jawa_eek:
