So, I realized there are a few topics regarding: "We need an RP channel."

 

Well, while checking out the fact we got /say and /emote and that you can make your own tabs, along with drag those over to make a new window (which now all say and emotes have their own nice little window), I found there is an option with this to create your own channel.

 

So perhaps instead of asking Bioware to make us an RP channel, all the RP servers could make a RP channel and just call it RP so people can right click on their general tab and then join in.

 

There we go, problem solved!

 

I also think since this is Star Wars, the RP channel should be IC & probably handled by via comm-units. So emotes there should be kept to really none.. kinda like talking on a cell.

This works, but the problems are:

 

1. Not everyone will know about it.

 

2. What happens to the channel when the person who started it logs out?

 

They went to the trouble of setting up a PVP channel, why not a RP one?

I assume so long as anyone is accessing the channel then it will still be up. I mean, this is essentially what people had to do in other games including WoW.

I guess an unofficial RP channel would work better than an official one as it will keep the trolls out, but you might have a problem of some rpers not knowing about it.

 

But my main question is this do we really need an RP channel and if so what will we do with it?

There's already custom channels on both sides on The Progenitor (EU):

 

rpempire

 

and

 

rprepublic.

 

 

And they're quite successful might I add
