TaitWatson
Hey all, We are investigating the ongoing latency issues with our European servers. As part of attempting to remedy the situation, we will be moving traffic off of the problematic ISP onto a different ISP over the next hour or two. This can result in being dropped from the game. If you are dropped, you should be able to reconnect shortly. Thank you for your patience and understanding! -Tait

Or is it more a case of re-routing over different networks on a temporary basis to see if it solves the problems with Telia routing?

cirruz
Nice, thanks for that Tait. Most people I know where beginning to download programs like Pingzapper, pingplotter or WTFast to divert and fix the lag. I appreciate BW doing something about this, like what was said earlier better late than never.
Loki_
My usual latency till this began was 40 - 50 ms then it crept up over a few days to 80-90 ms then past two days was 120+ms with severe spikes over 500ms After tonight's changes its back down to 70-80ms and the latency spikes of over 500ms seem to have dropped to spikes of around 150ms. It is a noticeable improvement but still not back to the usual 40-50ms without spikes that it has been for the past two and half years. Thanks for the effort but please do not assume that the issue is totally resolved yet edit :- two - three hours later and its back to 45 ms seems to be way better now, will monitor for the next few days edit2:- A further three - four hours on and its back to 70ms seems its still struggling when traffic picks up. JattaGin
Today, on The Progenitor I had massive lag spikes or whatever they are called. In my non-technical language: The "connection bars" in the UI constantly became a red dot and I got disconnected about every 5 minutes. This behaviour started after a patch some weeks ago (late March?) and gets worse and worse with every day. Today was unbearable. Picture going through Alderaan and getting disconnected every 5 minutes. Oh, the loading times... The last time I had the exact same issue was in early 2012. Back then, for weeks I was told: It is your connection. But then, a bug / technical error was acknowledged, BW fixed it and I never had any disconnection problems again. Until few weeks ago. Please have a look in your bug fixing archive and see if this is the same error from back then. If so, apply the same fix. Thank you.

This time around it was a problem with an ISP (Internet Service Provider), through which they routed some (or all?) of their traffic on European servers. They switched the ISP and it got better. So the problem was not Bioware's fault, although they could have acted faster. Lost a Dragonslayer -title run on Sunday because of the god-awful lag. IkarusXY
Just logged in on the Progenitor. Around 50ms which is half of what i had over the last week. There are some minor spikes to 100 but they are barely noticable. At least i'm not getting the red dot anymore. Will see in an actually operation later this week. Seems good for now. IkarusXY
Watched it for a couple of hours. Its still not really fine. While it is in fact better then the weekend, there is still huge fluctation in the ms with lag spikes. Just no red dots anymore. Seeing my "standard" ping at around 90ms (33-40 before the last patch). Just went through a 20 minute session on Yavin where my ping rarely dipped below 110ms. Still seeing massive spikes, down to one red bar and 600-800ms Please impliment your next fix - this one hasn't helped.
Spincrossover
I play on ToFN server and both me an my Guild have experienced this lag spike situation where every couple of minutes the "connection bars" go red for 2-3 seconds and everything just lags. This happens in Warzones, Operations, planets, etc. As far as we could test it it happens everywhere. I don't know if its related or not but in Wz's (and only in this environment) we have also experienced major loss of frames sometimes dropping to less then 10 (in the same machines where prior to 3.0 the lowest we got was 50 FPS). ejbsuperbat
Bioware- I am glad that you have addressed this issue even if it is a little late. I am sure I speak for a large portion of the community when I say that I would like to thank you for helping. I hope you can fix it by the weekend as a friend of mine is coming and he loves to play on my character. I see we are no longer kicked out anymore but the lag must be fixed as most of us cannot play at all! I regret to say that it cannot be denied that your speed in fixing this error was less than brilliant and your costumer service needs to greatly improve their reputation with the players. I am sure taking care of issues like this much quicker would create more players. Many of my friends who played SWTOR quit because of this issue. I thank you once more for starting to take care of this issue. Yours sencirely- Ejbsuperbat Edited April 15, 2015 by ejbsuperbat Extension

Gonalius
I've got problems now - I was doing fine till today, no lag, a 27ms ping, happy days. Now, 40 second lag spike every 30 seconds. May be my side, but my normal fix (Little better than swearing loudly at the computer) isn't working right now.
