One thing i recently discovered is that you can turn these back in to the legacy vendor i.e the mainhand weapon for the kit and can then mail it to another new char to use for their class by handing in again, there is no time limit to do this. Just thought i would share this as it makes it a bit more useful if you still have a few chars to level up.

i just sell them once the refund time runs for the weapons made from the mainhand kits. thats all there good for is credits.

I think it's useful... seems all my low level alts tend to mod/remod pretty much constantly, having an item that won't need modding for a few levels gives them a chance to hoard commendations for a bit and mod more efficiently

Well damn that sucks! They should atleast level with your character!

I don't even use mine. They are totally worthless. You can use them at level 15, which is about the time you get your orange weapon which is better once it's modded up and you can keep that one forever.
