zachiscoo
Is it possible to have my main character max all the skills? Can I unlearn a skill and keep progress for later? Or do I have to make several characters to be able to do many things?
SpaghMonst
You get 3 skills. If you unlearn one and learn another, all progress on the unlearned one is gone. I think if you max it and remove it, it would count for the achievement, but that's it. You'd have to start over if you wanted it back. If you really want all skills maxed, you need multiple characters.

SteveTheCynic
If you unlearn one and learn another, all progress on the unlearned one is gone. Not just the progress. You also lose (if it's a crafting skill) all schematics that the character learned.
Void_Singer
you also lose the onslaught unlock if you retrain Here's a list of most sensible Crew Skil Setups (others possible, but usually very inefficient) Basic ArtificeArtificeArchaeologyTreasure Hunting [*]Basic Armormech AmormechScavengingUnderworld TradingAdvanced Substitute Slicing if UWT is covered elswhere [*]Basic Armstech ArmstechScavengingInvestigation [*]Basic BioChem BiochemBioanalysisDiplomacy [*]Basic Cybertech CybertechScavengingUnderworld Trading [*]Basic Synthweaing SynthweavingArchaeologyUnderworld TradingAdvanced Substitute Slicing if UWT is covered elswhere [*]Basic Harvest ArchaeologyBioanalysisScavenging [*]Basic Non-Crafter / Raid Pro BiochemSlicingAny other Crew Skill The reasoning is all crafts require the Gather skill mats in regular quantities, so you never trade it out. You never trade out a Missions skill if it's the only one of it's kind (because you lose access), but slicing is a good replacement in some skills that make heavy use of it. Harvesters can collect a ton of mats from an area by covering all the basic skills (slicing is ignored because slice nodes don't give mats), and Non Crafters can level Biochem to take advantage of reusables like medpacs, stims, and adrenals, and pick up a bit of free cash from lockboxes and having a utility gather skill for FP mechanics, or selling off harvests You can cover all skills with 6 Alts (first 6 sets, use advanced substitution where noted), and it can be very helpful to have a pure gather alt (and a second one on the opposite faction, for harvesting Balmorra)
