NEW GAME "Star Wars (Jedi): The Fallen Order"

Here is a link to EA's website for the game:

https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/jedi-fallen-order

There is not much there but the ability to sign up for their newsletter regarding development of this game, but it is interestingly set to release Holiday 2019. As that is when I expect 6.0 will be releasing also (if we make it there), I'm now very curious to see what impact this game has on the population of SWTOR.

I wouldn't take anything about the video on that Facebook link too seriously though, as it is just the trailer for this game's Knights of the Fallen Empire release and seems to have nothing to do with the Fallen Order game.

No impact.. I'm not playing another star wars game unless it's an MMO.. or if I can decide the gender of my protagonist. Bored of male padawan's with jean claude van damme body types..

This is a game I am looking forward to. I didn't pick Jedi here until a short time ago and he certainly isn't my first (4th actually) not my Favorite either but as this game wanes the more I look towards others, especially a "Star Wars" title. The time era that game is set in (Between Anakin Movies and Core Movie's) to me is nearly perfect (I hope it has *Real Stormtroopers :) ) and all the settings should be nearly the same as we all saw in the movies. This game has just slowed down so much; it's so long between content and when it does come its short and bugged even the *Story itself is problematic (Loose ends, directions nobody wanted or liked, the loss of the characters we liked so much). I wouldn't quit SWTOR entirely but I will be taking time away, atleast until the Obsession wears off. However good that game turns out to be will dictate how long that is.

KOTOR was great

Jedi Academy great

Outcast was great

What, this isn't a new game. This is just ripped cinematics from the Knights of the Fallen Empire/Eternal Throne trailers.

The only good thing that come out of this blatantly false news is directing more people to SWTOR.

EDIT: It is a new game however the footage they used is from SWTOR. Glad to see they have SWTOR on the website too

Not another specific protagonist, I'm done playing male only's so if this is what it is no thanks, but thanks for the heads up.

Well Disney does not seem to know how to make a good female protagonist. A good protaganist needs to be flawed and for some reason story telling has gone out the window lately.

Youre missing out on a lot of good games then

You're right, but that isn't going to make me spend money on those games or the 40-80 hours it would take to get through each of them when I have little to no control over character creation.

I'm way too spoiled since KOTOR, DA:O, Jade Empire, and ME and everything after those titles came into my life. It has resulted in many, many, MANY abandoned games after 1-2 hours.

I feel the same way. If I'm not represented, I don't play it.

I'm not going to lie, this seems utterly bizarre to me. How do you define represented? purely on gender grounds? It's not like the characters we play in this game are particularly representative of anything IRL.

I can understand getting annoyed at some of the over the top masculinity in other games, however we know absolutely nothing about this character other than the gender and that they are a surviving Padawan from Order 66. How can you judge them based purely on this? Do you do that to men IRL too?

Sounds like a boring and frustrating position.

Back on topic: Honestly I don't have very high hopes for this game. It's been a long time since EA demonstrating any creativity in any of their products so I'm expected yet another generic action game with a Star Wars skin. At least we don't have that long a wait to find out though.

It gets tiring having to play a male protag in 99% of games, so much so that now I just don't enjoy them anymore, despite having tried to. The Witcher series is a good example, didn't last any longer then 30 mins trying to play it.

It's just not fun and as a female rpg fan I find it quite immersion breaking.

Each to their own.

We shall see just what they do for the pc in that game. The dearth of info about it makes anything predicting gender selection as being available or not is nothing more than a coin toss.

But yeah, a predefined character rather sucks. One of the things I disliked about Vampyr (as an example) was there was no character customization to speak of. And if you prefer female pc's? Well you were really out of luck.

It bothered me that the main PC in BF2 was a chick (moreso that it was an Imp). That's not the reason I never bought or played that game but I can understand it being an issue.

When you say "chick", do you mean female? If so, what was the problem? Can't you just embrace your feminine side?
