chuixupu
I'm guessing you're asking about accuracy? If so, you want 100% ranged.
Juslooking
actually what i should of said was my accuracy on the range side is at 96.34% but on the tech side its at 106.34% and reads on the tech side that accuracy over 100% reduces the target's resistance, so should i also be below 100%
Synavix
If you check your ability window the game lists which abilities are classified as "Ranged" or "Tech". Marksman is very "Ranged" heavy, while the other two specs are a bit more hybrid and require both. To answer your question though, most people refer to the "Ranged" tab when talking about requiring 100% accuracy (110% special) or % crit or surge, unless they say otherwise. Edit: Just read your last post. Most mobs/bosses do not have resistances, so you only need 100% tech accuracy, which you start at. Ranged is a bit different. Most ranged abilities (that are not tech) are considered "Ranged Special", while your basic Rifle Shot is just normal "Ranged". Your Ranged Special accuracy will be 10% higher than your base Ranged accuracy, which you can see by mousing over the stat. Bosses have a 10% defense against these types of attacks (player characters have a base 5% except for consular/inquisitors, which have 10%), which is why most guides recommend getting 10% accuracy on your PvE gear or 5% for PvP. With 100% normal ranged accuracy and 110% special ranged, you shouldn't miss with any of your important abilities. You'll still miss with your basic attacks sometimes, but you'd have to stack too much accuracy not to. Edited November 21, 2012 by Synavix
Juslooking
Great thank you!!!!!! I'll be lowering a little bit accuracy on the range side so that the tech side would also lower as well, it will help me out with interrogation probe and also my corrosive grenade at least not to be resisted
chuixupu
You want your character sheet to say 100% ranged accuracy and 110% tech accuracy. It's not that you need the extra tech accuracy, but you need your ranged to be 100%. So if your ranged shows below 100%, you don't want to drop any. NotRonin
Tech/Force damage is almost never resisted even with 0 accuracy. This is why DPS sorc don't wear any accuracy gear. For MM, you'll want 100% acc. For Eng or Lethality you will be better off trading some accuracy for surge once you're over 98%.
