DeltaEkotte Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) I am running as an IA->Operative (healer) and I am looking for some mod-able gear, I have finished Kaas and am almost done with Balmora and I want to know, is it better to run class quests or run FP's for IA gear? And if so which FP gear item and which FP does it drop from? Also, what is a "gear run"? Saw a group that was looking for a healer and they said it was a "gear run". Xandire Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 In my experience, it's random which pieces drop in flashpoints. I have a Operative and a Sniper both at level 43 right now and I've run all kinds of stuff, but it's kind-of random. One night in Boarding Party, it was all IA-type stuff......another night it was mostly SI-type stuff. I think it's luck in some ways. I actually got a nice moddable piece of gear from a Heroic+4 on Balmorra---I forget the name but you had to disable some towers along the way and kill the leader down on the beach in the back of the instanced zone. But many times you can get moddable gear from quests or from the commendations vendors. Make sure to check the commendations vendors whenever you enter a new world and see if there is something worth saving up for. Between rewards, vendors, and drops it doesn't take long to get into a full set of moddable gear minus the bracers and belt most of the time. Then after that you can use commendations to upgrade the armor plate, mods, enhancements and barrels as you level to keep the set current. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So far the only items on commendation vendors (aside from Korr/Hutta) are mod-able weapons, right now I'm playing to grind PvP comms and buy the lv 20 pvp armor set and use that if I don't get any mod-able armor before then. Tenkari Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 well, I know BT drops moiddable Chestpeices if your lucky. my Marauder (level 21) is using the marauders BT chest, my BH has the BT chest, and my jedi Sage has the Esseles chest. all them are modables.
