trussasp
Hi moderators/whoever: Suggestion... remove all dialogue trees from all instances. (other than those which would be required to kick off scripted events, of course) Yes, I fully 100% recognize this would annoy some of your remaining fanbase. But it would encourage others to return, and more instances would be run by those who are left, increasing investment/play time in the game. If you want a limited test run, just pick a server at random (with enough population to be a good testbed, of course), and do it. I guarantee an increased run rate on instances. And yes, you DO track this stuff. Rakghoul participation rate comments by developers, etc. are evidence for this. You can deduct 10% of my total credits if it doesn't work. Bluerodian
How about instead of just making it that way across the board, make it an option that can be switched at the start of an instance. You're less likely to irritate people that way.
OmegaMayhem
Only 10% of your credits? You don't sound very committed to this idea.
trussasp
Hi Bluerodian: I would vote for that as well. But from a very early point, wasn't it sort of, well, TORTURE to go through an instance for the 6th or 7th time, with someone who hadn't, and have them listen to all of the dialogue? I mean, it was, yes? Bad design, in my opinion...

trussasp
Hi Omegamayhem: I'm extremely committed to this idea, and it would be very successful. If done months ago, it would have really helped the game. (unfortunately, I believe the game has already reached the tipping point, and so it might not work anyway) The 10% was just a joke anyway, designed to get the moderators (who I KNOW read each and every post) to pass the idea up the chain of command. In about three weeks, my credits will be worth nothing to me, anyway, sadly. Maybe I'll mail 'em to you, which server you on?
Elmillia
Would you rather the instances were as plain as those in WoW? Story is what Bioware games are all about. If you are running the same instance over and over, its like watching the same movie back to back 20 times. Only do it if you enjoy the story. trussasp
Hi Elmilla and Fenshire: While I respect that this is a bad idea (to you), to many of the people who are not here any longer, this would have been a GREAT idea. And seriously, seeing that same dialogue over and over again, doesn't annoy you? The majority of the chatting amongst players in my groups in instances after maybe week three was dominated by things such as "spacebar plz! lol...", and "boring, spacebar..." Again, it's cool that you might like the dialogue, but many many people... do not. (I can think of 400,000 right now, for example) And more importantly, at this point, no matter what you think of the game, wouldn't you agree it might be time for some new ideas to drum up subscriptions? Test this on ONE server, guys...
mathisk
I vote against this idea, too. At best, it should be an option for each character to skip dialog during a flashpoint. Which also means they get to skip all social points and all lightside/darkside points that are in the flashpoint, because you don't get LS/DS/Social points if you don't participate in the dialog sequences. And, yes. I do actually listen to the dialog during almost all of the flashpoints I run unless I'm in a group and we're trying to get through it fast. On my own, though, I still enjoy the stories and want them kept in the game.

I just rewatched Return of the Jedi for the hundreth time yesterday and i didnt skip all the conversation scenes. In game i've run esseles nearly 50 times and i still watch every cutscene. Every dialog. Because thats why anyone plays The Old Republic.
JamieKirby
Well, i personally don't do flashpoints or operations because players just want to skip everything, i mean, before i stopped doing flashpoints, i have done Black Talon and Esseles over 30 times and i have never skipped a conversation scene, it pissed them off, so i stopped going through them, its either that or get voted out of the group. venomlash
Ow. Ow ow ow. Please, no. This is a STORY-DRIVEN mumorpuger. Why the BOWB are you suggesting taking the story interactions out of it? Just spacebar through them, man.
LilSaihah
There should definitely be an option once LFG is released for an experience on the spacebar express. I don't know how Black Talon would be affected by it, though.
Sendai_S
Add an option for this - sure. But there's a few things tied into conversation. Social. And light dark alignment. That said - an option would be needed, at a MINIMUM, to choose the dark or light outcome for your personal character. HOWEVER... Forcing YOUR preferred method on everyone still playing - no. What you don't realize is that even more people might quit over that. Are you a politician? Cause they're usually the ones trying to impose their personal agendas on me.
