If you could hand-pick a companion for each specialisation, which companions would you choose for your "Dream Team" and why?

 

My personal list is :-

 

Healer - Mako (Nice easy going companion and great to get her so early)

Melee Tank - Tanno Vik (I love his attitude and underhandedness)

Melee DPS - Akaavi Spaar (Personally my fave companion - she can really hold her own against most mobs)

Ranged Tank - Blizz (Nuff said)

Ranged DPS - Gault Rennow (Andronikos Revel was a very close second for this position but Gault is more fun and entertaining)

 

I based my list on the companions I like to run missions with and their abilities and combat skills - I did not take into account crew skill benefits!

 

So what would be your Dream Team?

I'll bite...

 

Healer - Mako Agreed, she's a good companion with a nice attitude

Melee Tank - Qyzen I quite like him, he is sufficiently different to be interesting though he could do with being a bit more ruthless - Would've been Khem, but his role in the class story drops him down a bit

Melee DPS - Akaavi Spaar Agree with this one too, her personality is great

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo Its all about the attitude...

Ranged DPS - Vette Best companion by far!

 

In general I think the female companions are better than the male ones, they tend have more interesting personalities and better dialogue.

Healer - Mako (Sure)

Melee Tank - Tanno Vik (Don't really like him, but I use him a lot and I like him better than other Melee Tanks)

Melee DPS - Yuun (Wish I used him more)

Ranged Tank - Pierce (See above)

Ranged DPS - Vette (So my Warrior is only 42, but Vette is the only companion I have ever used over the entire levelling process. I expect to take here to 50. I don't know that I like her more than say, Jorgan, but my decision to keep using her must be for a reason. Also, every crew new a saucy Twi'lek).

Melee Tank - Lord Scourge

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo

Melee DPS - Jaesa

Ranged DPS - Gault or Zenith

Healer - Dr. Lockin

Healer - Doctor Lokin A mysterious half-Rakghoul of unknown age. Could it get any better?

Melee Tank - SCORPIO ******-Robotpsycho, whats not to love

Melee DPS - Risha I dont like any of them, Risha is kinda funny though

Ranged Tank - Blizz Well, that one is obvious

Ranged DPS - Vette I adore Vette. She is sooo much fun.

Here's mine:

 

Healer - Mako (Guss, Elara and Doc are all great but Mako never falters and is always upbeat)

Melee Tank - Tanno Vik (a rock, he has tank stamped on his forehead)

Melee DPS - Kira Carsen (fearless and proud)

Ranged Tank - Blizz (Kaliyo gets all the best lines but still there's no contest)

Ranged DPS - Vette (Gault is entertaining, but Vette wins on attitude and results)

I do not have all my toons leveled up to 50, but so far my team would be...

 

Healer - Doc

Melee Tank - Lord Scorge

Melee DPS - Jeasa (She is my fav companion of any of them)

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo

Ranged DPS - HK-51 (Its about damage, and HK delivers. when not fighting, is great at crew skills as well. This is the most well rounded companion in the game)

Reasons: An armored hot blonde healing with an imperial accent. Nice... A tank that banters at mobs with awesome lines like "You have proven to be... unworthy!" after an ocassional lightning punch. Wife Kira, nuff said... A quick-trigger Twi'lek with enough sassiness to compete with Kira. (Begin the sarcastic banters at each other). Finally, a ranged-tank who names his rifle and is as loyal as a protocol droid.

Healer - Mako

Melee Tank - T7-01

Melee DPS - Ashara / Nadia

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo

Ranged DPS - Vette

I would bring a full squad of five copies of M1-4X. Best dialogue, attitude, and look of any companion in the game.

Melee DPS--Nadia--hands down the strongest dps companion I've found so far

Melee Tank--Bowdaar--seriously how can you go wrong with a Wookie for a tank?

Healer--Mako--awesome heals, sweetheart and looks to spare

Ranged Tank--Corso--"now you're dumb, ugly, and dead" gotta love the attitude, even if he is a white knight

Ranged DPS--Andronikos...actually kind of a tough choice here between him and Vector but Andronikos has more 'tude so he wins.

Healer - Mako

Melee Tank - SCORPIO

Melee DPS - Jaesa Willsaam

Range Tank - M1-4X

Range DPS - HK-51

 

My apprentice Jaesa WIllsaam, my techy mechanic healer Mako, and ALL THE ROBOTS!

Hmm... Ok. Mine would be

 

Healer - Mako (cute as a button.)

Melee Tank - T7 (the way he jumps in there, he might as well be melee)

Melee DPS - Kira (one of my fave comps. Her's is an excellent story and I love her one liners. And she gets it done dps wise.)

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo (talk about one liners... "come on out and I'll show you my gun!")

Ranged DPS - HK-51 (the best fighting companion in the game bar none. HK and my Shadow tank can run just about anything.)

Healer - Malavai Quinn ( I like him very much, he's loyal and confident )

Meele Tank - Corso Riggs, although he isn't melee tank ( My second male companion favorite next to Malavai - I love his humor )

Melee DPS - Ashara Zavros ( She is beautiful )

Ranged Tank - Kaliyo Djannis ( I love Kaliyo - best companion in the whole game, she is f* awesome! )

Ranged DPS - Risha ( Sniping lady - can it get better? )

Empire

[*]Healer - Quinn (Because you can never get too much "My Lord")

[*] Melee Tank - Khem Val (Deep down he is just a lovable teddy bear, hungry for souls...)

[*]Melee DPS - Torian (This was so tough for me. Vector and Torian are probably my favorite companions, but I had to go with Torian just because I like his animations more. But Vector is an extremely close second.)

[*]Ranged Tank - Kaliyo (Because she is my favorite lady to get into trouble with)

[*]Ranged DPS - Gault (Andronikos was a close second for me as well, OP, but Gault is just to hilarious.)

 

Republic

[*]Healer - Doc (Gotta have my smooth talking scoundrel)

[*]Melee Tank - Lord Scourge (obviously)

[*]Melee DPS - Nadia Grell (I love her character design and she can kick major butt!)

[*]Ranged Tank - M1 4X (Patriotic Droid FTW!)

[*]Ranged DPS - Aric Jorgan (My XO till the end!)

Well, I'm terribly boring on this....all my Agent companions are essentially my favorite companions. Maybe I'd swap Temple out for Gault, though.

Oh, let's see:

 

Ranged Tank - Blizz (cause jawas with rocket launchers win...always)

Melee Tank - Lord Scourge (no brainer)

Range DPS - Aric Jorgan (another no brainer)

Melee DPS - Vector

Healer - Elara Dorne (cause she's a sweetheart)

From an Empire Perspective:

 

Healer: Doctor Lokin - I think he has by far the most interesting back story of the healers.

Melee DPS: Jaesa Willsaam - Shes a Jedi and dark side nuts what is not to like.

Melee Tank: Khem Val - So much more could have been done with him and hopefully will in the future, where is his innate force resistance!

Ranged DPS: Ensign Temple - very hard pick cause I like Gault as a sniper as well. But her loyalty and family tree make her an interesting choice.

Ranged Tank: Blizz - Utinni nuff said.

Have only played Republic toons to 50 other than my inqusitor (whose companions I mostly didn't like very much).

 

Healer: Elara (absolutely adore everything about her)

Melee Tank: Bowdaar (I like him. Scourge is a Sith so he wouldn't fit in. T7 is cute but never used him as my JK was a guardian)

Ranged Tank: 4X (great stories/really funny)

Melee DPS: Kira (awesome)

Ranged DPS: Aric (see above)

 

Yes, I like the trooper companions a lot (Yuun just isn't around long enough to have an impact while Kira is an integral part of my JK's story and like her little sister. Admittedly Vik is kind of...eh)

Healer - Pretty much anyone other than Tharan.

Ranged Tank: Blizz, you can never go wrong with Jawa's and rocket launchers

Melee Tank - SCORPIO, dat voice.

Ranged DPS: Vette, only because the only other ones I have experence with are Temple and Aric.

Melee DPS: Vector, probably biased because I was just so happy to be rid of Kaliyo, but even though I have no idea what he's talking about most of the time, Vector is still awesome.

 

That said, still holding out hope that one day we'll get companion 'role kits' that let us swap them out, so we can use the companions we like instead of the one or two choices that are viable with our Advanced Class/Spec.
