Odincore
I recently built a whole new computer just to play swtor. And for this build I got a nice 64gig SATA III SSD to run the OS\Swtor\Important Programs. As my slave I have a 250gig SATA II. I was very excited when my new machine hit 17 seconds from dead to desktop. But my happyness was shattered when I got Swtor installed and Reved it up only to still wait forever on a load screen at login. I saw a much better time going planet to planet. I have tripled checked that all my files are on the SSD and not on the HDD. I run a 12meg connection that averages around 12.3meg 60-70 MS with no drops or slowdowns. I tried several things thinking maybe something was wrong...but it wouldn't explain the better P To P load time. I ended up blaming bio for slow servers. So my question is anyone else have an SSD and still have horrid login times?

ASUS® P8Z68-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX (Motherboard) Check! 16GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (4 X 4GB) Upgrade for performance: See if you can get some ram at least 1600MHZ your mobo can handle it. 1GB AMD RADEON™ HD6770 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DX® 11 Upgrade for performance: If your going to do radion id say at least a 6800 series but take it even higher maybe a 6900 series if its in your budget. 1TB SATA-II 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 32MB CACHE (7,200rpm) Upgrade for performance: try to get one that is a SATA III (6gb\s) or if your looking for crazy get a solid state drive (SSD) for insane load times (they are pretty expensive though). You can still use your 1TB as a slave. Note: your mobo has only 2 SATA III (6gb\s) slots (grey slots) 600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan Upgrade for performance: at least 700 watt is the new standard for these types of builds, 600 will work but future upgrades may wain on it. Malastare
Intel® Core™i7-2700k Quad Core (3.50GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics I still can't justify the price for this. Unless you're doing video editing, you might as well save cash and get teh 2500K. They overclock to the same speed and hyperthreading doesn't really help games. 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT) 16GB is excessive, but I won't complain because I have the same amount. However, it's not worth moving from 1333 to 1600. There is just no noticeable difference. 600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan I worry about PSUs that don't show their brands. 80Plus is no longer a guarantee of quality. COOLIT ECO II A.L.C ADVANCED LIQUID COOLER I guess people have their preferences, but liquid cooling just doesn't matter as much with Sandy Bridge chips and the newest generation of GPUs. I have a 2600K running at 4.5GHz on air cooling. It never breaks 60C and produces less than 28dB even under stress testing.

Malastare
Any word on how The Old Republic will run on this system? Neither one is great, but I recognize that I can be judgmental some times. I build my own systems, so I tend to have negative views of the cost-cutting measures that are used on some pre-builts. I believe the current knowledge says that SWTOR is a CPU hungry game that loves RAM. Disk speeds don't matter so much and framerates are driven by CPU power as much as GPU power. Upgraded video cards mostly get you more pretty effects and extra consistency. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883155318 This is an i3 using integrated graphics. The game should be playable, but don't expect anything beyond medium settings and expect to have some slow loading of content. No matter what you do, you'll have some framerate drops in high population areas (Fleet) or areas with a lot of geometry within visible range (Taris). The memory is acceptable, so long as you don't play with a bunch of other apps running in the background. There is little to no chance of upgrades, too, because of the 300W power supply (and you cannot easily replace DELL's power supplies). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229300 The CPU on this is a little better, and Memory looks good. However, calling that video card a "gaming" video card is a bit dishonest. It is a low-end gaming card, and you're going to be playing at laptop-quality for graphics. Overall performance should be about the same or slightly better than the previous option. Also --and this is my opinion, not fact-- I don't trust Cyberpower unless they list manufacturers of their components. I've seen too many of their products shipped with really low quality parts. I understand that for $600, they aren't going to be top-of-the-line, but in their history, they have used some components that I would suggest replacing immediately.
