Aurojiin
Ok, to cut a short story shorter, we were doing Bonethrasher on Nightmare (8m) last night, and here's an excerpt from my combat log: [22:45:22.894] [bonethrasher {2624474125959168}] [@Vesia] [swipe {2624611564912640}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Damage {836045448945501}] (44361 kinetic {836045448940873}) <44361>[22:45:22.894] [bonethrasher {2624474125959168}] [@Vesia] [] [Event {836045448945472}: Death {836045448945493}] () I got swiped for 44,361 damage. Before you ask, no, he was not enraged (this was prior to 50% health) and he had not consumed a Gamorrean add. I'm of the opinion that a 44k hit is a little excessive. Wulffion
When Bonethrasher uses his "stomp-target-into-ground-with-fists"-skill (dont know the name^^), the person gets a debuff, which makes him vulnerable to swipe. So you get 3 or 4 times the normal damage.

So you get 3 or 4 times the normal damage. That would explain it. It strikes me as a somewhat stupid mechanic, seeing how enormous Bonethrasher's swipe radius is. I'm assuming that he's scripted not to target the person with the debuff specifically, because that would be beyond unfair.

The person with the debuff just needs to get away and wait for it to expire.
AshlaBoga
Last week my guild leader got the debuff and didn't get away in time - he got hit for 44k! Thing is, this was on HARD mode, not Nightmare. So yes, I'm not surprised at all that Bonethrasher can do 43.5k on Nightmare if he can do 44k on HM.
Aurojiin
That's correct. The person with the debuff just needs to get away and wait for it to expire. I guess I can't complain too much then. I got caught by the very edge of the swipe when a melee dps dragged him too close to me, and I wasn't prompt enough on moving. It's more embarrassing that I've never noticed the debuff itself. Tunnel vision fail You also get slowed after you get the debuff, so it's important for other people to be aware of where you are and to not turn Bonethrasher into you. Kaisies
use a threat reduction, or have your jugg intercede to you (I do this every time he starts pounding someone, he will immediatly go to someone else. (after hes done pounding) also, spread out.
