Hey Tait & the rest of the BW crew. I understand you are hard at work on much more pressing issues, and I thank you for all your hard work. That said, is there any update on this bug? It's been a month since we last had any word about it, and I want my achievements!

 

Regardless, many thanks for all your hard work.

In my case every "Nar Shaddaa Nightlife" event achievement except the one for the rancor is gone. Had them all farmed in about 20 hours and 5 million credits.

 

@BW: please correct this. There would be no reason at all for going/farming for successfully farmed achievements if you destroy them with some patch and don't regrant them again.

Have lost the majority of my achievements too. Had 100%. Server: The Progenitor. Please fix this.

Lost every single NS event achievement (295 iirc).

 

Am patient though and believe it will be fixed before the next NS event takes place...in 2015

I know a lot of you are affected by this issue, and we are still diligently seeing what happened. I don't have any updates regarding a fix at this time, but I will pass along that information as soon as I do.

Besides the Nightlife event's achievements I miss the Rakata FP's for doing it 25 times. I did it already around 8-10 times which is there in the 10 times achi while 0 in the 25.

Thanks for updating Tait. Letting us know that it's still on the table and not forgotten, even if there's not update as such, means a lot.

And please, please don't make the solution to bring out the Event and again and have to re-do it. With the large amount of Random Number Generator associated with this, it is completely unfair to expect people to win those items again!

A "red-do" solution is absolutely out of question. I see no reason for doing this event every again. Spend an insane amount of time and credits to get the 100% and I want to see those achievements granted again. I don't care how BW will do it I only care that it is done.

 

Suggested solution: just programm a script that automatically grants all the achievemnts again, maybe even with a fake date (because the dates a achievement had been completed are also gone).

 

Re-doing such achievements is a no-go. I mean, this time its the Nar Shadda Lifetime event. Next time maybe the Gree event (also have 100% there) . I was so happy after I finally had 100% of gree and never ever having to do it again, standing on illum for hours, waiting for surgokk or gravak to spawn again and finding a raid group to kill them bevor someone else does. Or endlos killing of gree robots.

Or just imagine haven the hidden achievement from ragkhoul ... disease 1000 people ... finally completed and then gone by a patch and not regranted again. Just imagine the horrors after having so much time and efford spend (but then wasted) on such achievement.

 

I already accepted many things, problems, bugs and so on within the game. I'm still playing it, even after many codex entries are still unavailable, even after the companions Yuun and Rusk are sill bugged (attacks not counted as tech or range but as force - for tech users?), and many more things/problems.

But not getting those achievements back I worked so hard for would be the final coup de grace for me in playing swtor.

I wouldn't be too worried. I am sure it is just a display issue that occured when the event was turned off. I wouldn't be surprised if turning it on again would make our achievements reappear.

Same went from 295/295 to 35/295. Glad I saw a post in the Gen. forums or I might not have even noticed. I am glad there was a reply to this, and hope we get it resolved. As others have pointed out, being forced to redo it would be a huge slap in the face due to how the event worked. Not to mention some of us might find it important to have timestamps that reflect when we truly did it {why have timestamps otherwise?}.

 

As another above pointed out it may be a display issue and I sincerely hope this is true {had a similar thought}. Since what is displayed makes zero sense. I have not been super happy with the direction of the game for a long time....and things like this are like salt in the wound. While not "game-breaking", it may be my last straw. My larger concerns aside from achievements is losing confidence in the game's integrity. If this can happen at the drop of a hat...what is to say others things will not suddenly blink out...items start being lost out of inv/cargo etc.

 

Why participate if there is a chance it will be for nothing?

 

In case it matters, I am on The Shadowlands server.

I had all achievements, including the secret one, except the Jackpot! (the Rancor achievement).

 

Server: The Ebon Hawk.

My losses (The Red Eclipse):

Sound of Rain

High Roller

Instant Winner

Hot Slots

Played in casino lot of time, spent many many credits, won 3 speeders, but missed the Rancor.

 

I would kindly ask developers to check a root of this problem: whether these achievements still exist and only aren't shown in the Legacy interface, or they are completely lost from the database. In first case, it's not a problem to wait some time until others, more serious bugs that have higher priority, will be fixed. But the case of data loss is much worse. Unlike many other achievements, these are very time- and credits-consumable, and the suggestion to do these feats again during the next event will be very hard to agree with. In such case, I would suggest to selectively restore all these data for all accounts from the backup copy of database, which was made soon after the end of past event. This may require much much time and even the creation of specific programming tools, but please tell us the bitter truth, so we will be able to understand a problem and patiently wait as need.

Has there been any instance of broken achievements getting fixed in the past? Not like achievements that didn't grant, I mean more like this where you got the achievement and then it ungranted it.

 

If it's a database restoration issue I realize it will take considerable resources to restore the lost achievements, if that's even possible at this point. If it should be determined that the achievements cannot be restored I'd much rather see them completely remove the achievements from the game and then produce new ones should the event return again next year. I will NOT be grinding those same achievements again for you to lose them a second time.

 

Basically, what bothers me is not so much that achievements disappear, crap happens. It's that other than BW acknowledging it, nothing gets done. If the answer is it's too complicated, just tell us that and then find a reasonable way to compensate us for our time. It's called customer service.

 

It's like if I called Apple to tell them my iPhone broke and they said "Okay, thanks for letting us know. We'll get back to you." And then that's it for what, months, years? That wouldn't be acceptable there, why should it be here? We pay good money for the service and expect it to work. When it doesn't we need to be compensated. It's as simple as that.

Same issue, much to my chagrin. I remember a year ago an update broke your progress in the HK mission and reset it if you had some but not all of the parts. BW's response was to give you all the parts as compensation so you didn't have to start again. Seems as though it would have been impossible to determine how far along you were in the mission.

 

I suspect that will be the (long delayed) fix for this issue. That is, give out all the achievements except the obvious ones for those without jackpot mounts. I don't like it, but its better than "we'll look into it (for months)" or "your're on your own, earn them again". The latter would be beyond frustrating.

ETA: Never? Yup, never.

 

How has it been over two months since you confirmed this and you still haven't even managed to figure out how it happened much less offer a solution?! More like you messed up and don't care to fix it because you wont make any money off fixing it. It's sad to see the only thing that motivates bug fixes is potential profit.

 

Almost another month gone by (since last dev response) and no solution. How about you refund the credits I spent at the casino BW, and I'll forget the event ever happened.

 

They have lost all data except your credit card number.
