Mercenary Class Representative

Hey folks,

As we explained in this thread, we are launching a new program where you, the players, will elect a representative for your Advanced Class. This person should be someone who is an active member of your class community, is respectful towards other members, and is very knowledgeable about the state of your class. Reply below with your nominations! Please nominate other players by their forum handles.

As a note, keep things positive! Normal forum rules still apply.

I'm not sure if its right to volunteer myself?

Anyways, my guide is not represented among the SWTOR forums for a few reasons.

One main reason is the major limiting you have when posting, so creativity is useless. I used to run my guide here last year with upwards to a few thousands posts in active discussion but was later shut down due to 10+ pages of trolling. I ported the guide over to MMO-Champion, where I moderate. That happens to be the second reason.

A quick link to my guide can be found here: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1117292-2-2-UPDATED-Arsenal-Bounty-Hunter-Are-YOU-Doing-It-Right

It has been maintained since April of 2012. With hundreds of thousands of unique views, it has gained quite a bit of momentum with its multiple discussions with every aspect of Arsenal Mercenary gameplay- whether it be hardcore or casual. The couple thousands posts of discussion have led it to be a nice hub where quite a few of us tend to associate and synchronize our information.

That being said: I have been very forward in getting answers done in the past, some of which resulted in direct messaging time with large individuals such as Stephen Reid and others. All discussions normally were about issues that seemed to be ignored that *needed* tending to, for example Unload doing improper amount of damage ticks. Upon submitting logs and talking directly to Mr. Reid, we saw a patch 3 days later that hotfixed it.

Ontop of all of this, I have been the author of multiple panels across various websites such as OceanicGamer and the like. Most of these websites were collaborations with various class "specialists" that talked about current gameplay and how to succeed.

(PVE) I do not have a Mercenary DPS in raids (so if that disqualifies my nomination so be it...) but i would like to nominate odawgg for PVE Merc DPS. I think he is knowledgeable about the Arsenal Merc and has created an easy to understand guide on his specific DPSing methods. The guide and theorycrafting he made (or makes) also translates to actual raid DPS which I can vouch for. Edited by paowee

Cashogy_reborn!

I know he has similar views on PvP mercs/mandos as I do.

The PvE merc guys I think only really know Arsenal/Bodyguard well enough. Frankly that leaves 1/3rd of the merc trees left to be wondered about. Don't see many Pyro raid guides or discussions. So if you campaign on behalf of Pyro mercs, you''ll have my vote =P

We need a purebred mandolorian, not FOTM rerollers. Someone that Merc PvP'd from 1.2 till now.

I would have to say they would have to know each inside and out. Which means they must know the healing and the dps of a Merc. You can find stuff on Arsenal and even a little on Healing but not much is said for pyrotech. I have only read some of Aerro's work. Which great for dps but I have not seen anything on healing from BiS, stats, etc...But I do believe Aerro could and would do it. And he is right you have to lift the limits for who ever is chosen.

I've had my Merc since early access, and PvP'ed with him through thick and thin. In the previous guild I was in, I got close to the GM who was a merc, and the two of us were probably among the best PvP mercs on the Bastion. Good times with that player :)

But anyways, its too bad this popped up so soon. I mean, its great for the community, but I've been working on a Merc PvP guide as of late, but I'm not completely happy with it, so I'm still refining it. Bioware said representatives have "terms", so maybe by the next voting, I'll have my guide out, and I'll have a chance in the running!

On to my vote. I vote for Cash (Cashogy_reborn). I agree with almost all of his views on Merc PvP.

Odawgg gets my vote, Aerro would be fine too.

I'm against elceting someone because of a PVP backround. Our dps in PVE was hurt enough by solutions for PVP problems.

The main focus of a class representative should be PVE DPS and PVE Healing since its PVE content the game is centered on.

Just remember that the representative speaks for the entire AC's population, not for themselves. Voting for someone according to the preferred endgame is rather pointless. I voted for Cash because I agree with his viewpoints, not solely because he's a PvPer.

Also, PvP is just as important as PvE, no matter how much content is pumped into either one.

Both sides should get equal facings. I did a panel on PvP and what we really needed in order to improve. Electro Net was a step in the right direction (plus Hydraulics). If Arsenal can keep getting nice additions such as that, we will be in an even better place.
