Last night saw another Open World PVP event. This time at Alderaan. Overall at population highs, we had about 30 Imperials and 20ish Republic players. This event took place on Ven Zallow, a PVP-RP server at 8-9:30 PM EST.

Low level toon killing was low, I think I killed 3 people who were in their 30’s, and let one go who we already killed. We don’t camp bodies, either, this way it is not a big impact on people questing on planet.

At the end of the event we decided to attack the republic spaceport. The champion guards were pretty manageable, but the champion 50 turrets seemed to have an amazing amount of armor, so we just ran past those after we realized we didn’t have a group strong enough to kill them. We were hoping to get a big surprise out of some poor Republic player who flew into the spaceport, but not one person landed while we were in there (which was about 20+ mins). This highlights the current low population issue that is on most servers. I believe that Ven Zallow is in the top 25-30% in terms of server population for North America, and even then there were under a dozen people on each side running quests. That is a significant issue.

We were only able to get a rough estimate on their size, and general direction that they traveled to on the map that they attacked. It took us about 10 mins to find them on the world after they left this location.

Overall the event was fun, but needs more planning. I accidentally invited too many Imperial players which unbalanced the event. I am now in better communication with Republic sided guilds, this way we can better organize the events. Communication right now in game cross faction is a nightmare, making organizing these events in game VERY hard. We now have each other’s VOIP servers to better organize these things.

Right. the reason why I invited so many Imperials is because the Reps had massive numbers on the event we did a few weeks ago, so i was trying to show up off the bat with a large force.

Either way, we now know its a potential problem and I expect we will be able to work around it given the sizes of our guilds

Yeah, on our side we didn't really know much about it until it was starting. We've talked it over and hopefully for the next one, we can all get a bit more involved. Either way - it should be fun and I'm looking forward to it!

Yeah, thats the phenomenon now with our server. Ilum is dead. Open world PVP is random and rare. The Plague event helped, but that was only temporary.

So, here we are, breaching the Iron Curtain that prohibits reasonable communication through factions, to organize events that we would assume BW would be either helping / adding incentives or organizing themselves. People may ask, well why do we need to add incentives? Well, I would answer with "try to run one of these events and see how many people show up." That question would be answered then and there.

Oh well. I'm definitely not going to rely on BW to feed us open PVP content, I know much better than that.

I'm waiting on some representatives from The Republic and other Rep guilds to come to NEB's forum so we can get these better organized. If your on a rep guild on Ven Zallow, or an Imperial guild looking to join these Open World events, please sign up on our forums. Our forums are 100% viewable to the public, and any registered user can post on them regardless of who they are. Its a very easy way to chat. I've noticed that a lot of guild forums ar heavily locked down, so those aren't ideal for open communication.
