Airwolfe said I could edit the death out as long as I accounted for the rest of the fight, which I did. This is from the night Chosen first downed 16M NiM Kephess, and I died approximately one second before the kill, as evidenced in my video here:

The real problem is that raid parses are not an "exact science". We can spend entire weeks debating rules for every boss fight but in the end it all comes down to common sense.

 

For example, on Olok the Shadow, the current top (and only) parse from Fenrîr (http://www.torparse.com/a/375927/1/0/Damage+Dealt) starts with the line:

 

And after only features Olok the Shadow and his Underworld Arms Trader/Shady Customer adds.

This is because they killed the droid field before the boss spawned and he was out of combat for 193ms which reset the log.

 

 

In my opinion this is a legitimate parse.

 

On the other hand I got parses on the same boss like http://www.torparse.com/a/372875/17/0/Damage+Dealt which start when we pull the Wealthy Buyer and his Bodyguards and feature a 2 minute downtime after we came out of the elevator waiting for everything to come off cooldown.

 

How do we compare these logs? I can't just cut my start time (violates rule #2).

 

If I trimmed my log from the point when Olok spawned (http://www.torparse.com/a/372875/time/1375825761/1375826109/0/Damage+Dealt) my DPS would be 2072.05, instead of 1827.77. Quite a big difference...

 

So as I said, I believe it comes down to common sense and this must be handled in a case-by-case basis.

 

I've added some clarification on what I consider to be a legit parse on Olok, in post #3.

I know the coding is kind of crap on this fight and randomly drops combat. But in order to have a legitimate Olok parse, all phases must be included.

I'm sure fenrir can update that log if so inclined but for now I removed it.

Post #3 has been updated quite a bit with what I consider to be valid edits, most are applicable for both 16 and 8.

 

Discuss if anything is needed - but I think these listed edits will equalize parses and account for random irrelevant bits while not cheating anything/allowing equal footing.

offtopic: i remember reading a patch about double proc relics... does that mean 2 SA relics stack now?

 

fairly certain the change is:

 

SA relic and damage proc relics no longer lock each other out

 

tanking relics (absorb / defense procs) no longer lock each other out.

 

 

and probably a mixture of the above, but i don't think that would be a good idea to mix them.

 

anyway, same-type relics should still lock each other out, so SA x2 or damage proc x2, etc., even if they are from different tiers or play-type (PVE / PVP or arkanian / kell dragon)

No they dont stack anymore Paowee. Compare the idea with the clicky relics. If you click 1 boundless ages relic, they other will go on 30 second cooldown. It makes sense if they dont stack.

 

Yesterday had another NiM try at TfB. Ashame we are still wiping horribly at the dreadguards. Anyhow, the Writhing Horror kill was quiet nice.

You'll want to edit this log to before your death. You may cut the end up until the point Writhing Horror dies..or leave some of the add damage on the end.

Either way, at least in my rules is legit. Since it's 8-man though, paowee makes the call.

I felt it was pushing it if I would have edited the log. I would get the best dps (3.999) if I would editt at 26 seconds instead. But as I said, I dont think that would be fair.

 

But yes, its up to Paowee.

The ideal log for me are untrimmed, unedited, "as-is" logs. Sometimes combat ends when the boss dies sometimes it doesn't. It's just the way of life. If you don't get a good Writhing horror raid parse this week then just try again the next...

Do you have the individual logs? I want to know if Noo'dles got the void disturbance buff before i upload it. Void disturbance is easily +100 DPS if you are in melee range of the tentacle and/or when you charge the adds in P1
