I went with the free agent option...I had no idea there were so many different options. Not sure exactly how they all get to that point, I played mostly Dark Side, but I guess the few light side decisions I made in the class quests must have had the right impact...I wouldn't have minded having the "blackmail" option, but honestly I think my ending was most appropriate for the way I played the whole game (I got zapped by a lot of sith).

Can't say I was really disappointed with the ending, though the whole thing with Hunter was definitely a little awkward :)

- WHO Hunter was actually working for (Since she was undercover in the Star Cabal as well)

I think you misunderstood. You can say something to Hunter about hiding her true self even from the Star Cabal and she says no, they knew she was a woman and they really didn't care what she looked or acted like. They recruited her at age 11 as a little girl... she was not undercover within Star Cabal, she was raised to be Star Cabal.

Were you flirting with him through most of the story too?

I think my first thought after the initial shock of the reveal wore off was something like "No wonder I couldn't sleep with him... Would have kind of given away that holo-disguise!"

I would really like to see more options down the road to carry on in the Star Cabal's footsteps... Really not sure what my character would do.

I agree completely. It builds up with all this suspense and then is utterly crushed. Chapter 1 ending with Darth Jadus coming back and all, I thought by choosing to side with him, in the end I'd help him become Emperor.

The whole Chapter 3 felt like a let down, the whole time it was just a wild goose chase, trying to find information on the enemy, which they never really found out, from what I understood, it was just an organization of people trying to destroy the Republic and Empire.

It disappointed me by how MANY Cliffhangers were left in the story,

- Rise of Darth Jadus to carry out his plan and become Emperor.

- Whatever happened with Watcher X, he said he didnt care about your condition but only that you would be usefull later on (I had killed him)

- WHO Hunter was actually working for (Since she was undercover in the Star Cabal as well)

- And of Course what would happen next at the ending, but we will find out i assume in an expansion?

There were others but I cant remember them at the time.

Also thought that the organization in Ch. 3 was going to be with Jadus behind it all Again.. Because he was saying at the end of Chapter 1 that even if I had foiled his plans that he would come back with a new one.

Overall.

1. Im let down by the ending

2. Thought it would tie in better with the earlier Chapters.

3. Wish there was a save/load button :(

I tend to disagree with you. For me, the second act was by far the worst part of the larger story. The whole brainwashing thing was trite and the undercover operations were poorly thought out.

I quite liked the first act; it was intriguing if not a tad predictable. The final act, in my opinion, was the strongest in terms of storytelling. The MO of the Star Cabal seemed to echo earlier worries expressed by the Minister of Intelligence about Sith leadership and religious fervor.

In terms the cliffhangers you listed, most will be probably be addressed in later story installments. Jadus will likely make a reappaerance in one form or another. Watcher X (while possibly dead) is connected to you in some way, possibly through the implant he placed in you on Nar Shaddaa; look for him to return as well.

Hunter, as far as I know, did not have further ulterior motives and was not working for another group. She states that the Star Cabal recruited her at a very young age. The male disguise was not designed to fool the other conspirators, but rather to facilitate her transition into a new life. She wanted to disappear completely, so she fundamentally changed who she was.

I personally chose the 'free agent' ending, as it was the logical conclusion to my character's journey (furious about brainwashing, disillusioned with Imperial Intelligence and Sith control). I liked the story overall and am excited to see what BioWare will do next.

I actually wanted to make this thread after the NDA dropped, but then I decided I'd wait a bit, till sometime after launch. Well, being Christmas and all, this seems like a good time to post it.

Here's a list of the endings I've done and know of. Spoilers abound, don't click if you don't wanna know.

Neutralish: Imperial Intelligence goes on as normal, you stay on as Cipher Nine.

Basically in this ending, the Minister of Intelligence(aka Keeper during the Prologue-beginning of Chapter 2) uses the Black Codex you get at the end of the game to to blackmail the crap out of the Sith and let them keep Imperial Intelligence going as normal. To get this ending, you have to pretty much be neutral and give the Black Codex to the Minister of Intelligence at the end of the game. THE SITH WILL ASK YOU FOR IT FIRST, DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM. You can either lie or straight out say no. If you make too many LS choices, you will piss off the Sith to the point they pretty much don't allow Intelligence to continue as is.

In my opinion, if there would be a canon ending, this is probably it.

Light Side: Defect to the Republic and join the SIS

This ending is pretty much as it describes, you defect and join the SIS

To get this ending, you basically act really nice to Ardun Kothe and his team in Chapter 2. Save Chance's life, put up with the stuff they put you through, and don't snap at him when he uses his brainwashing stuff. At the end of chapter 2, you'll get the option to spare Ardun. Take it. Towards the end of chapter 3, you have to fake your death. Ardun shows up when you do this, again, be nice and explain to him what's going on with the Star Cabal, he'll help you by putting out the word that you're dead. At the end of chapter 3, he'll pop up and reason with you that the Black Codex in the hands of the Empire is a bad thing. If you give him the Black Codex, he'll offer you the option of truly defecting and joining the SIS.

Neutral- leaning Light Side: Imperial Intelligence dissolves, you essentially become a free/rogue agent.

In this ending, the Sith dissolve Intelligence and you use the Black Codex to wipe out all records of yourself and become a free agent to operate in the shadows with the help of the Minister of Intelligence and Keeper.Watcher 2. You basically become Batman of the Empire, free from sanctions, rules and Sith oversight to go around helping the Empire and eliminating threats as you see fit. It's not explicitly stated how you get the resources and free reign to do all this, but most likely the numerous galaxy-shaking secrets of the Black Codex, blackmail and the Minister of Intelligence's connections are involved.

Getting this ending basically involves leaning towards Light Side, not throwing in with Darth Jadus, not joining the SIS and giving the Black Codex to the Minister.

Dark Side- Throw in with Jadus and become his hand/personal assassin.

You become Jadus's right hand and help him reform/control the Empire. This is the ending I personally know the least about, but as far as I know you just have to throw in with him at the end of Chapter 1 and then do as he says.

Dark Side: Intelligence dissolves, you become a military lieutenant/become part of the new Sith intelligence.

I honestly know the least about this ending and have never done it, however as far as I know the gist of it is you become part of the new Sith-led intelligence, where they have complete and total control over what goes on. From what I've seen, getting this ending most likely involves playing nice/obeying orders of the Sith/Dark Council members over the course of the game and giving them the Black Codex at the end.

Anyway, as far as I know, those are all of the possible endings, at least the ones I have done and heard about it. Merry Xmas.

I was able to side with Jadus, and still get the third ending.

Yes...of course I just thought it was all a joke. Although there was that one part where The Shining Man in the holorecording says "give Hunter my love" and I was like, um, wait a minute....

Yeah, that made me go 'wait just a tic.' The lines were so snarky, I loved it, so I kept hitting on Hunter anyways. Like you, I thought it was a joke. I totally played it cool when I found out. Still, I felt awkward for a second.

Oh, and I feel like such a boss with that ending. I went neutral.

My ending was a mix of two of them. I went neutral, imperial intelligence dissolved and I gave the Minister the black codex but said I did not want to become a free agent.

The direct quote is: Me: "I'll make the empire a better place not by fleeing but standing my ground." Minister: "loyal to the bitter end i see. good luck to you cipher or however long that name lasts."

This confuses me because I went neutral and did not get DS points for this ending. All I know is it was pretty cool though.

I had this as well. I went full dark, sided with Jadus, and handed the Codex to his men.

I think it is because I questioned them first, before handing it over. Shame since I really wanted the Hand of Jadus ending

Does anyone have any more details about the dark side Sith Intelligence ending? Is it a position of power, e.g., some sort of leadership position in this organization or are you “just” working as an agent for Sith Intelligence instead of Imperial Intelligence (that is now dissolved)?

I actually found myself blown away by the gravity of the choices in this game - so much so that i completely changed from playing darkside to lightside - entirely for storyline reasons.

When i started, i was all about getting rep with kaliyo, and screw the LS/DS stuff.

By the end, id tried to redeem all my DS choices and was playing entirely LS just to see where the story went next.

All in all, i found the story extremely interesting, and the choice/consequence scheme very gratifying.

I am looking forward to seeing what they can achieve with future content expansions and level cap raises.

I'm even half-considering replaying the agent storyline with different choices - maybe as a sniper this time - maybe even joining Jadus.

Some of the encounters could use a little tuning: i found jadus rather difficult as medic + vector, whereas hunter using medic+scorpio was rather trivial.

But other than that - completely blown away, and avidly awaiting more.

I now have a true incentive to level an alt, other than for simply filling raid spots on off nights ^_^

Got the fifth ending, was aiming for the 4th but I'm happy enough :D

Imperial Intelligence is dissolved, and replaced by Sith Intelligence. You become the head of that agency, and the Sith have you working on dark projects thanks to the Black Codex.

Here's what stood out:

I've actually played the class quests pretty neutral, but ended every act on the Dark Side choice.

  • I did not question the Siths when they asked for the Codex. I also did not hesitate on Keeper's comments before the mission, about wanting to change. I supported Jadus/Council all the way.
  • Starting in Act3, I've been very, very hostile to Keeper (bald Keeper, not Watcher 2) and how useless he is.
  • I didn't adopt any special attitude towards Watcher2, so I guess it doesn't really have an effect there.

My ending seemed to be a little vague:

I picked most light side options, didn't join SIS and locked Ardun Kothe in the room, where he was shot by the turrets. I then got the black codex and didn't give it to the sith, then proceeded to beat them. Upon returning to the Minister, he did ask me for the box, to wipe my information, but, I refused even him. Here's a short synopsis of the dialogue:

[Minister]: Give me the Codex, it'll erase your info

[Me]: What about everyone else

[Minister]: If lucky, I might retire, and everyone else will help you in secret, you will work in the shadows. This is the best I can offer

[Me]: I'm sorry, your best isn't enough

[Minister]: Still loyal to the end I see. What's coming is dangerous. If you wish to stay, I wish you well, Cipher, however long that name lasts.

[Me]: However bleak it might seem, we're not finished, I'll make the Empire a better place. Not by fleeing. By doing my duty, no matter what.

[Minister]: Thank you, agent. Dismissed

SO, I don't think I gave him the box, I received no lightside or darkside points fomr the exchange if I recall correctly. Upon getting on my ship, my shipmates ask how it went, and I say "Imperial Intelligence has fallen, but it does not change our duty. We soldier on." Then Keeper (Watcher 2) calls in on holo and this is the ending exchange:

[Keeper]: This is command ship Tenebrous. I thought I'd see you off properly; it might be a while before we do this again.

[Me]: Somehow, I doubt it'll be that long. But, I appreciate the thought.

[Keeper]: We're getting questions from Dromund Kaas, and I was hoping to set the record straight. What's your plan while we sort things out here?

[Me]: For the record? Better not ask. But my people and I will be watching, and you'll hear from us again.

[Keeper]: Understood. Good luck.

So, it KINDA seems like the rogue/shadow agent ending, but it's not really giving me that vibe. It feels like the entire group will do stuff aside from the sith intelligence or something...like our entire intelligence became underground! That's how I like to think of it

This is exactly how mine went!

So, in essence... Imperial Intelligence is now kind of acting like SIS, no?

If you planned on going for the 4th ending, did you side with Jadus at the end of chapter 1?

I just finished chapter 2. The whole situation was horrifying and disturbing and I got my first darkside points ever.

I had to let Chance die, and that was my first darkside point result. He used that damned codeword and for that death was too good for him. I then locked Ardun Kothe in the room with the turrets and got 150 darkside points. I really don't see killing people that practice what can be called mind****, what they do to my agent, giving darkside points. I could easily see gray, but not dark so much. The very idea of being a mindslave like that is abhorrent.

I did let Saber and Wheel live since they were decent to me the whole time. Now Hunter needs to be burned out of existence since he/she used that codeword constantly. Hopefully that will be my last or at least one of my last, darkside point situations. I'll take te darkside points to get revenge for those that abuse my girl's mind. Just thinking about having to live the violation for the rest of your life is disgusting. I took the option from Watcher X to never allow control ever again. I can't remember one of the others, but the revenge one is not as important as being free and in charge of my own mind again.

I want ending 3 and I think I'm well on my way.

Chance was the only member on the team who genuinely seemed to give a toss what happened too you and he appeared to regret having to use the codeword but face it in that kind of situation where you ARE going to die without backup I bet nine times out of ten you would do what Chance did. I spared him, but only because A) He wasn't a total **** to me like Hunter and B) Helps gain trust with the SIS and I can always eliminate him with the rest if needs be. I killed Saber and Wheel because I'd inevitably have to do it anyway. I defeated Ardun Kothe and asked him to surrender (because lets face it somebody with THAT much information is far more useful to Intelligence alive) but then he went and got himself locked in the turret room... smooth.

About the "Mind ****" though, I managed to get over it pretty quickly with Keeper. I mean the Dark Council wanted to have you executed for saving their stinking hides. Keeper basicly saved your life by authorising the brain washing since the Dark Council wanted the former. It was being put through that trauma (and IRL I have suffered from mental issues similar in the past) or just being executed. Not to mention Keeper doesn't sound surprised at all you broke free of it, nor does he intend to tell anybody you did so.
