I am slightly confused why we get a better version of the Purple Medpac called Rakata Medpac at 50 from the vendor. It heals for more and is easily crafted if you can obtain the Biometric Crystal Alloy (i hear hard FPs or Ops). I could spend a long time getting the purple version of the Ultimate Medpac and it is inferior, what gives? This is the same for all Biochem items except for Implants which must be RE'd.

Probably because those reusable ones are BoP, so they are your bonus for taking Biochem. Everyone else will have to settle for the purple version of the Ultimate Medpac which is BoE and can be sold/traded.
