Rion_Starkiller
Ops - plural for operations, or plural for operatives. Op - short for singular operation, or one operative. OP - short for Original Poster or Post. Also, OverPowered. OP's - possessive form of Original Poster. Opps - remarkably common misspelling for "oops" (BRKMSN) Edited June 13, 2021 by Rion_Starkiller

SteveTheCynic
Also: Canon: Something that is actually part of lore. Cannon: A huge weapon that blows things up. Fussy: Canon: a body of ecclesiastic law, and by analogy anything else that is considered "definitive". But the origin of the word is in the laws of the (Catholic) Church. aceite
Actually, canon originally meant a list. The list in question was what books belonged in the bible. The application to law came later.

SteveTheCynic
Actually, canon originally meant a list. The list in question was what books belonged in the bible. The application to law came later. OK, fair point, but it still has nothing to do with a body of "definitive" fictional lore.
JediQuaker
This all goes to show why you shouldn't use an acronym like OP and expect everyone to automatically know what you mean. The correct form is to spell out the entire word, such as Operation, the first time and put the acronym in brackets afterwards if you intend to use the acronym later in the text. For example: I was doing an Operation (OP) tonight and....... during this OP, I .... so the OP failed. I was playing Team Fortress Classic (TFC) and.... etc.
Stellarcrusade
Ops - short for operations, or plural operatives. Op - short for singular operation, or one operative. OP - short for Original Poster, or overpowered. OP's - possessive form of Original Poster. To the OP, I was running my OP with an OP OP doing and OP, but the OP boss was also OP, but that was ok because my OP OP was more OP than the OP OP boss. Rion_Starkiller
Don't forget: Opps -- remarkably common misspelling for "oops" GOOD ONE! adding it now To the OP, I was running my OP with an OP OP doing and OP, but the OP boss was also OP, but that was ok because my OP OP was more OP than the OP OP boss.
