From the Coruscant Central Archives:

The Star of Suzerains: A ruby of incomparable value, this semi-mythical gem was said to have been the centerpiece of the Celestial Tyrant’s royal regalia. The first references to the Star date to the reign of King Halvor IV, known to history as “The Conqueror” for his brilliant, and often brutal, campaigns unifying several sectors along what is now the remote reaches of the Tingal Arm.

Although no images or video of the ruby survive from this distant pre-Republic period, written sources describe the Star as a gem of unusual size and brilliance, palpably warm to the touch. Perhaps the most curious trait indicates the presence of a peculiar luminosity emanating from a mysterious mist said to be locked within jewel.

Several of the later Celestial Tyrants were said to use the gem as a kind of oracle, claiming to foretell the future from the shifting swirls of the Star’s internal tempest, and any army that bore the ruby was believed to be invincible. Whether the gem actually held any of the fantastical properties ascribed to it, it was clearly a precious stone of immense pecuniary, political, and ideological value.

Unfortunately, the Star was lost during the civil wars that brought the Grand Acesian Celestial Kingdom to its end. It was last attested in the ownership of Queen Emia II, the final legitimate Celestial Tyrant, and presumed destroyed when her flagship was annihilated by rebel forces.

Greetings and Salutations on behalf of my master, the Magnificent and most Puissant lord of all he surveys, Naggon the Hutt. Though it has been lost for ages, the ever knowledgeable and all-knowing Lord Naggon is now aware that the priceless Star of Suzerains has been recovered by the Jedi known as the Knights of Sokan. His Immensity makes it known to all that riches beyond the dreams of avarice await any who can retrieve the ruby.

What it is: This is an RP event organized by the Justiciars, in association with the Knights of Sokan and Nexu Company.

The Goal: Retrieve the Star of Suzerains (a Counterfeit Murustavan Ruby) from the Knights of Sokan, supported by Nexu Company.

How: This event has two phases.

First, an information gathering phase set to begin immediately.

Second, a grand PVP finale in the Lawless Sands on Tatooine, to take place at 10:00pm EST on April 6th.

How you can participate during the Information Stage: Your goal is to gather information from members of the Knights of Sokan and/or Nexu Company regarding the identity of the Holder, who will be a member of the Knights of Sokan. After approaching a member of these guilds, you will be informed of ways that you can earn the right to ask ONE YES OR NO QUESTION which they must then answer truthfully. Some of the ways you can earn a question are:

1) Bribe for a reasonable amount (10k)

2) Defeat them in a duel

3) Beat them in a WZ

4) Run a FP together

5) Work the answer out of them during RP (possibly by getting them drunk, offering to share a cut of the item's proceeds, etc...)

Members of the Holder's guild who aren't participating can just say so when approached.

The point of this information stage is to allow guilds to identify the Holder, which will be important for the Grand Finale. Each guild will probably want to hoard information, since whoever gets the item in the end is the winner.

GRAND FINALE: The event will end in a battle for the item on Tatooine, in the Lawless Sands. The item Holder must stay in the zone for 1 hour once the event starts. If they can survive that period and make it out alive at the end, the Knights of Sokan and Nexu Company win.

If the Holder is killed, they’ll send a tell to their killer informing them that they now have the item. The two will meet up and /trade the item. That person must now stay in the zone until the end of the event and so on.

The previous Holder will then make an announcement in General identifying the GUILD of the new Holder, but not the actual Holder's identity.

Whoever ends with the gem is the winner.

Prize: For the person who ends with the gem, their choice of one of the 1440 Cartel Market armor sets. There may be a prize for the winning guild, to be discussed between myself and the winning GM. In order to redeem any reward, the gem must be mailed to Vizair, Guild Master of the Justiciars.

This sounds very interesting and I'm sure Alpha Company will be there. I am curious if this event is open to imperials and how you intend to make the /tell and /trade work if an imp get the Gem.

Currently the plan is to invite Imps to the finale just as spoilers to make the pvp a little more chaotic. The communication issues you hit on makes it impractical to include them in the substantive event.

We hope to see you there, and more than that, we hope Alpha Company will participate in the information gathering phase. That's really where the RP is. The Grand Finale is just a pvp flourish.

Hey guys, Steph from Sokan here. An idea for Imperial involvement, if any not-so-loyal Republic groups wanted to float it: You can always hire out the Empire to do your bidding(!) Having a few skilled agents on hand to assist your group during the final event might not be such a bad idea.

If Imperial Guilds want to join in, some World PVP base assaults (note: world base assaults, not ganking) in an attempt recover information about who the Star's Holder is (or just to bring grief to Sokan/Nexu), wouldn't be such a bad idea. We're in(!) - if there are participating Sokan/Nexu present at the time and it looks like you've got us cornered then maybe, just maybe, your guild can "persuade" someone to whisper you (aka: jump on their imp and tell your character via holomail) the Holder's identity. At which point you can either end it there, do something RP-ish (say, try and sell the information to Republic players), or talk to me about running a longer-lasting cross guild RP with Sokan/Nexu, even though it's up in the air as to whether we'll be in possession of the Star by the end of the event. And lastly, before I forget... Event Flier:
