Back when I played another MMO this was the most common crafting set up. You didn't hope for crits to get 2 of the item, but rather you expected a tip. It's a fairly routine setup in online games.
Yeah, I've seen some people say "Your mats + tip", or they even specify the amount (usually 100k-200k).
