Any tips on what companion to bring to what planet when doing the storylines?

I find that sometimes it makes a huge difference which companion you have with you when you are doing the storyline quests.

It gives you some extra dialogue sometimes.

For example I regret not bringing jaesa willsaam to Taris since you meet up with a former padawan of her former master there and I feel that she would have alot more to say in those conversations than vette did.

So I was wondering, what special dialogues do you guys know of for the different companions?

I heard that as a trooper on belsavis if you have Elara out when you come across a wounded soldier in a cutscene she gives you a medical diagnosis and a different conversation thant you would otherwise. And in another part of belsavis you can punch someone and if you have Tanno Vik out, he'll say "that the best you got" to you and punch the guy again.

I'd love to hear some more examples like this from the different classes!

Hmm... well it has been a while, but I know that Theran and Holiday have several of these moments. They are great because Holiday is priceless in these instances. But specifially, I can't remember where the occur. I'm leveling a Shadow at the moment and will note them when they occur.

As a rule you should bring Kira on every quest after you get her. I might just have bad luck but T7 doesnt have a lot to say, then again even if he did its not as cool as what Kira would have to say.

Edit: A quick add is that I mean bring her for Chapter One

The only place you should lead Kira, is into her tomb, never to be seen again. Get Treek, instead. Or even HK :p well, in my opinion, anyway.

To me the best thing to bring is a healer companion, unless the quest asks specifically for one of my companions. In some missions when I have to deal with a large amount of mobs I bring my tank-companion who attacks and kills like a destroyer. Really depends of your gaming style.

This scene was pretty underwhelming. She says one sentence and aftter that she says nothing.

Blizz has one scene in voss at the gormak base, that was pretty funny:

Your aim is it to find somebody. You need to negotiate with a gormak. Instead of doing it yourself you can send Blizz. But he comes back with parts, instead of the whereabouts of your target.

Kaliyo asked you to steal something on Hoth.

Gault was pretty cool on Alderan.

I think you misunderstood my question completely.

Damn, I didn't bring Blizz to Voss.

I did bring Gault to Alderaan :)

I'm currently playing the smuggler, after completing my BH, so I'll be looking at whom to bring. But I'm currently on Quesh and I've been bringing Risha with me since I got her... don't like Corso, and despite Bowdaar being awesome, the growls get kinda boring after a while.

I think If you flirted with Risha there is a nice reaction from Risha on quesh.(I'm not sure about it, because my recent smuggler didn't romance risha)

There are also some reactions from risha during corellia and the extra mission on a ice planet(I'm not sure if it's hoth or belsavis, but Risha will speak during the starting holo conversation on your ship).

Risha knows the sis agent on the ice planet and the jedi master on corellia.

I mostly played with Bowdaar and I don't remember any major reactions.

Oddball, I am sure you are on a mission. When you managed to play all cutscenes with all companions with DS and LS alignments, please provide a document with all the details for us. That would be great to have for future run throughs. :) Thanks in advance. ;)

Nadia Grell on Voss

--Conversation spoilers ahead--

You have the offer to have her heal the wounded Voss instead of you, she goes in pain and you can tell her something for a big affection gain, a cool master/apprentice moment.

Always take Risha with you as a smuggler she has extra conversations most of of the time and if you romanced her objects/stops you from flirting (fun to just flirt see her reaction and Esc convo)

Guss is Fun too.

I forgot the correct convo but, one funny thing on Corellia is when that doctor guy that has to injure you to get you in, shoots you in the thigh? you can tell him "Ouch! you could have hit something important aim for the leg" Risha responds "Or the brain", the other companions don't respond in this scene, or several others where Risha does.

When you can flirt to get the blackout scene with the Senator, flirt once then tell her that your heart already belongs to Risha, she gets mad either way that you flirted -3 but you gain +90 affection here.

And just so you don't miss it

Guss Tuno for one convo on Corellia.

Guss Tuno on Corellia when meeting with the Jedi in the Casino, you can say something about wanting the voidwolf head, she says the Jedi order isn't known for decapitation, Guss responds, "then why all the lightsabers?"

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Here's the thing, though:

I've already played through the game with BH, Smuggler, SW and Trooper. (and inquisitor, but I hardly remember it).

So what I'm looking for specifically next is the Jedi Knight.

That's my next playthrough when I'm finished with the Male smuggler (already did a female)

I can only speak for JK and smuggler, but I always had Kira and Risha, respectively. Kira is super essential to the JK story, especially Chapter 1, plus she was my JK's love interest. If only she was a healer, she'd really be the only good companion to bring for JK.

Actually, it's about the same for Risha. When she becomes a companion, her story part has ended for the smuggler, but she's still in my mind one of the top companions who fits the smuggler. Bowdaar is the typical Wookiee, but I growling is boring. Oh and she was my smuggler's love interest.

It's funny, as some of the companions definitely seem to have a very strong inspiration from the writers to really fit the class, while others seem like afterthoughts or fillers, like, dang we need one more companion for this class...hmm...well, we haven't used this kind of dude or race before, throw them in!

Looking back I regret leveling exclusively with Bowdarr, he gives the Han solo feel, but Risha contributes a lot more to the story. BH's companions all have their moments (except skadge)

And on your female smuggler, make that Corso because he's kind of the same way. It's always interesting to see how he'll react to her flirting with some other guy. A lot of butthurt, disbelief, and snark going around, and sometimes you can choose to play it off as a joke to smooth things over or you can push it even farther to rile him up even more.

If someone could help me, that'd be great.

I love Talos Drellik's character; he's funny, quirky, enthusiastic, clever.. etc etc etc

but story/lore-wise, I just can't take him with me while questing and exploring. I mean, he even says after combat: "I'm an archaeologist, not a fighter!" and on being summoned- "Is there a tomb you need me to explore?" So it seems even he prefers to remain on the ship until needed.

(and as a tank, I don't like using healing companions, way too slow and boring)

So if anyone could tell me any specific planets/quests he takes special comment in, that's be grand. Like, I've heard on Belsavis he reacts to things pretty strongly (with the Rakatan history etc). Any others?

I'd love to bring him out for these moments, let him 'experience the world' without having to go through the combat :p But I just can't bare to have him with me the whole time, I much prefer having a DPS companion, but I don't want to miss out on any cool things he says.

Bah this game.. so many options

Edit- to be honest, scrap that. After taking so much damage consistently, in good gear and being over-leveled, I've remembered how pointless being a tank is at lower levels (pre flashpoint gear). Therefore, instead of switching specs which would make sense, I'm gonna just use Talos. Fed up of taking 50% hp of a weak/strong pack of mobs, again, as a tank, in good gear, over-leveled.
