I want to ask my ISP to break the direct path to our server. We need an address.

How can I get the IP for this server? I need to trace the massive packet loss that I am experiencing.

Most times I am getting 100% lag and frozen screen. Shows server lag over 10000 most times. I can't even get past where I spawn in.

Thanks :rak_03:

You can generally use NSLOOKUP in your CMD prompt (be sure to run as administrator) to translate domain names such as http://www.swtor.com into an IP address. In this case for looking up a server IP, you'd want to use NETSTAT. The specific command arguments would be NETSTAT -n - p TCP -b | more. You need to be in the game when you run that command, otherwise you'll ping the login server instead. To save you some time, the IP for Satele Shan I see is 159.153.65.225, which is a class B network.

If you want to do a bit of your own troubleshooting, once you know the server IP addy, you can run a trace route in your CMD prompt to determine which router along the path is potentially causing you problems. The syntax to use in your CMD prompt is TRACERT 159.153.65.225, with the IP that NETSTAT returned for me. You'll see the hops displayed in milliseconds. If any are inordinately long, like 200-300 ms, that is likely where the connection problem is occurring and you can report that to your ISP and Bioware. Keep in mind that if there is a problem with a specific router along your path, your ISP may not own that router and may not be able to resolve the issue for you. Also note that if you see any hops timing out, that's usually because that specific router is not broadcasting its IP address, meaning it's private.

I managed to solve my problem with a delay in pvp. This is done simply - you need to write a letter to the technical support of the Internet provider. The form is as follows.

Hello. I am a client of the contract number so that the address is so.

I had a problem connecting with the game servers of Bioware, in particular with the server 159.153.65.225 with class B network. Often ping starts at 200, there are stops. Tracing from the server to the client showed the loss of packets on the route, outside their network. Tracing and ping are attached.

To this I attached the trace data. In response, the support specialist asked me to wait for 7 minutes to run the program WINMRT which did the same trace only continuously and collected statistics on packet loss. Sent him his data. Calculated the node on which at times there were 90% of the losses. The provider built the path to the server bypassing this node. Now I have no delays in pvp or fleet.

Stable is 140-150. But most importantly - I do not fade in place, I do not move in jerks at a filled station of the fleet, for example, I do not freeze in the warzone. Not once in the last few days. I think it will not be better, between us 8600 kilometers in a straight line.
