Gokkus
You're wrong, I suggest you do some reading because it got a LOT more content than you stated. Whether all of that is to your liking is irrelevant if your argument is that they did not add enough content.
DarknessInLight
So if EA's Battlefront and open world SW multiplayer game come out, guess what will happen to TORs population.. Im not so sure I agree with this. You're comparing a FPS to a MMORPG. Those have two very different fanbases and while some may leave, most will get Battlefront and still play SWTOR. OddballEasyEight
Funny thing you should say that because some of the classes in this game have the exact same skills as those in WoW. And people weren't expecting it to be a WoW clone (which it is imo) and people thought it would be a WoW killer...how wrong they were. Actually, the devs were very clear about using WoW as an inspiration/mould to make the game before it was even released. The problem is that people are morons and hype the game with stuff that's not in it just because they want it to be. I mean, droves of SWG players were thinking this would be a sandbox game... no matter how many times the devs told them it wasn't. So no, the devs were very clear that it would be a WoW "clone" set in the world of star wars with story as the main attraction. It's just people who didn't listen that complain about how the game turned out (as in the game mechanics being similar to WoW and the game not being a sandbox game). CKHelseth
Only thing I would say in reply is that I played WoW during its first two years and if you look at the content patches they aren't actually all that different in terms of pace, quantity, QoL, etc. Bioware has actually accomplished a few things Blizzard didn't, not a lot, but a couple things. The WoW devs, some time ago, talked about how it was much harder initially to expand the game but over time they learned to streamline things and started to churn out content while maintaining quality. For me the third year is where an MMO comes into its own, especially from a developer on its first MMO. If this year SWTOR maintains this same pace I will be disappointed. With a new crop of MMOs on the horizon this really has to be the year SWTOR starts "wow"ing its players and gives them good reason not jump ship to the bright and shiny or ESO, WSO or EQN. OddballEasyEight
Well... since the OP likes to make comparisons between this game and WoW, let's go all the way shall we? WoW had its first expansion released 2+ years after its release. It included: 2 New Races. Max level increased with 10 lvls. 1 New "Planet". 8 Dungeons 1 New battleground for PvP 3 arenas. So basically that's what you got for 2+ years of development. If you ask me, SW:TOR is doing just fine with its content.

Tsillah
2 Years have passed sind SWTOR was released. Doing a summary shows what we get in this period: - 1 new planet, with a little basic q line, and some mini qs for both factions. - 1 new warzone and arenas in pvp - some cm stuff fur rp players emotes and dye modules - 2 returning events (gree/bounty) and 2 one-time events (raks n chevin) - a ****load of new boring meaningless daily quest hubs - 5 New Ops (i dont considers goldenfury as an extra op...) First of all BW did really poorly in the first year and we know this. But the second year is very different. For that reason the two year overview is not a fair assessment of the game today. We actually have 2 new planets. Makeb and Oricon. PvP did get very little but with GS a big PvP element has been added and leaderboards are now there at least. All recent changes. I find that there are enough events. I hate games like GW2 that seem to revolve around nothing but events. I like that there's a choice in dailies so I can choose the ones I like and leave the ones I don't 4 of the 5 ops were added this year. That's all I have to say about that. This is the point. All that stuff that you listed and you say other games get in less than a year, we actually got in less than a year. I agree that the first year was bad but they've turned things around and things are much better for this game this year and I expect that to continue. Personally I like GS and it's a lot more complex than I realised it would be but fun. Sorry you don't like it but that doesn't discount it, but I do think that this year has proven a very different year for SWTOR and I am enjoying GS and looking forward to the 2 events running as of tuesday and still busy with operations and leveling toons. I think we just need to collectively get over the bad first year and start looking at the game as it was this year. Yes it was bad, this year is better. Stop living in the past. Sahee
4 Pages about this guy leaving SWTOR? Who cares! SWTOR is a game... if you are not having fun while you are playing it... than stop playing it! I bought the SWTOR CE but stopped playing after the free month (dez 2011) because I felt that the game was unfinished, 2 years later I do have the opinion that the game is finally showing real quality, which is the reason why I bought a gamecard and I'm playing several toons at the moment. SWTOR is not a F2P game in my opinion, there are to many restrictions and I would not have fun playing the game as a F2P (preferred access) player. I'm currently paying 5€ per month, which is a total bargain. Things about SWTOR which I love: The Story for example... absolutely gorgeous. Galactic Starfigther is a nice addition and after getting used to it, it is actually quite a lot of fun. Warzones, especially Arena 4vs4 are entertaining. The game is challenging, even in the leveling phase... can't wait to try out some raids. I'm looking forward to the fact that Bioware does not allow mods to be installed which would make raids a borefest, which I know from WoW... where raiding has no sense anymore aside from looting... no challenge, as the Mods do the work. There are so many things which I have not even reached yet and this game is at least worth another ~200 hours of entertaining fun... and afterwards, well... life goes on. I do have the opinion that SWTOR is moving in the right direction and Bioware has redeemed itself, at least in my opinion... as I was really disappointed of the state of the game after it was released in december 2011. I've played many MMO's in the past years and SWTOR has the best questing/leveling phase among all of them, combined with the legacy and the option to play both factions in a single legacy, the replayability of the questing zones is very high. Allright... what I wanted to say is: STOP WHINING. If you have any suggestions... than post them in the suggestions section... but please do not use the General Discussion section for your personal goodbye letter which nobody wants to read aside from yourself. bye. Hezip
I've played for nearly 2 years as well, There are only 3 things keeping me into this game... 1.Star wars ( i'm a big fan ) 2.The guild, we're good friends in there 3.Hope for this game After that list i really realised that this game is not like star wars anymore especially not like an MMO in which i can sit and enjoy upgrading my characters and actaully doing something apart from PvP and OPS :/ ''Star Wars:The Cartel Market'' is more like it.. Unfourtunetaly. I don't care if the cartel market saved the game or not, it has gotten way out of hand.I remember the good days in which as a sub i could have everything i wanted to if i tried to get it and to get good looking gear i had to get it crafted or farm it somewhere now its just the CM.. To anyone that will say : ''Don't liek it don't buy it'' or ''wait for you monthly CC grant'' ... Don't be ignorant because i DO like alot of the items in the CM and the monthly grant is a joke anyways, 600CC a month ( security key )..really? thats only unlocking 1 super rare item in your collectibles every 30 days or buying 1-2 packs.Yes, I have spent money on the CM before and yes it was MY choice.I hope that soon SWTOR will finnaly step up or that it bankrupts all-together and we get another Star wars game which was sandbox, just like SWG

All in the presentation I guess, but since I posted this just yesterday I may as well link it here: a rundown of what we've seen added just since F2P last november, including how frequently they've been coming out: I happened to have a pretty full rundown of the content that's been released since Free to Play started last November from an older post of mine, just to give you an idea of what's been added and how frequently: ------------------ November 15, 2012: Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated: -Brand new Level 50 Daily Quest area (Section X) with multiple new solo and group quests. -New World-boss (Dreadtooth) with scaling difficulty -New quest-line involving a new location (and some variety of gameplay mechanics) to get a new DPS companion (HK-51) for all classes. (Nightmare mode Explosive Conflict also added) December 11, 2012: Update 1.6: Ancient Hypergate: (4 weeks after 1.5) -Brand new Warzone (Ancient Hypergate) added (Heroic Difficulty Space Missions also added) February 12, 2013: Update 1.7: Return of the Gree: (9 weeks after 1.6, with X-mas/New Years in between) -Brand new reoccurring World Event (Relics of the Gree) that involved totally changing an area of Ilum and introduced new solo and group quests available during the Event. -New Operations level instanced World boss (Xenoanalyst II) available during the Event. -2 new level 55 World Bosses available during the Event. (Reputation system also added) (Failed attempt to Open-World PVP added as part of the Event) April 9(/14): Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy/Rise of the Hutt Cartel: (8-1/2 weeks after 1.7) -New Planet with 2 storylines worth of quests, plus Macro-binocular and Seeker droid quest lines. -2 new sets of Daily Quests (Makeb Dailies and GSI Dailies with associated Reputations) -5 new levels with additional class abilities and revamped skill trees. -New Operations level instanced World Boss (Toborro's Courtyard) -New Operation (Scum and Villainy) with 7 bosses (up from 5 bosses in previous Ops) (Also added level 55 Hard Modes for 4 existing flashpoints) (Also added the heavily bugged Achievement system) May 14: Update 2.1: Customization: (4 weeks after RotHC's general release) -Fluff added (that included a new race and long-asked-for armor dye and barber-shop/species change options) June 12: Update 2.2: Operation: Nightmare: (4 weeks after 2.1; 8 weeks after RotHC's general release) -Nightmare Mode difficulty for Terror From Beyond Operation -(Nightmare Mode for Scum and Villainy Operation released in Update 2.2.2 on July 10) August 6: Update 2.3: Titans of Industry: (8 weeks after 2.2) -Brand new Level 55 Daily Quest area (CZ-198) with multiple solo quests -2 brand new Flashpoints (Czerka Corporate Labs and Czerka Core Meltdown) with Normal and Hard Modes. -Brand new Monthly Reoccurring Event (Bounty Contract Week) added for levels 15 and up. -Brand new Tank/Heals companion (Treek) available for all classes October 1: Update 2.4: The Dread War: (8 weeks after 2.3) -3 Brand new Warzone "Arenas" (Corellia, Tatooine, and Orbital Station) with new 4v4 Deathmatch style play. -Brand new Level 55 Daily Quest area (Oricon) with multiple solo quests and a Heroic group quest. -2 Brand new Operations (Dread Fortress and Dread Palace) with 5 bosses each - Story Mode and Hard Mode December 3: Update 2.5: Galactic Starfighter Early Access: (9 weeks after 2.4) -1 Brand new Warzone Arena (Makeb) for 4v4 Deathmatch mode. -Subscribers gain access to brand new Galactic Startfighter game mode, 12v12 PVP free-flight space combat available for all levels with new progression and customization systems for starfighters. ------------------ If FPs, Dailies, and Raids really don't do anything for you, I can't really blame you for not being a huge fan of this game - but there's a lot more content we've been getting than your post makes it seem. And on the story front, the daily areas in Black Hole, Section X, and Oricon have all had pretty nice little storylines to them, (CZ-198 was more 'meh',) so its not like the story just came to a dead stop with Makeb. Callaron
Part of what slowed the update process down was the conversion to F2P - in the months leading up to it the development got really, really bogged down... with Makeb getting postponed for a long time along with the Cathar species. And they also made a bunch of QoL improvements during that time; like the much needed Groupfinder. They seem to be on track again though when it comes to updates, even if those don't always appeal to me personally.

DarthDymond
The real question is how much of that content is still relevant to a level 55 player in full 78 gear? If all you care about in your MMOs is max-level, max-geared content, then there are definitely better games out there to fit your play-style. There's a good amount of stuff to do here at max level, WZs (ranked and unranked), GSF, Operations; the new Daily Areas and FPs are worth running through as they come out to see the story content; Rep grinding if you're a completionist or want a specific reward. But this game has always put a lot of its heart and soul into the leveling experience as well - that's what makes it stand out from other MMOs, and I think they've been fairly up front about that fact. Arunas
You have to remember that they lost a lot of developers, including most story writers. Most of the new content were in development even before F2P, there were hints at this in leftover dialogue and such people found when data-mining the client. Some of the new content like the Czerka planet and new operations were made recently and is of lower quality. Therefore they have two choices, hire more devs and churn out more content (but unlikely to have continuation of class stories for obv reasons) or milk more money with cartel market. The game had 500k paying subs this May per EA report but it remains to be seen how much of this number will remain in Spring 2014 so the future of the game will be determined with their further actions that year.
