the stim contribution to defense rating is applied in the AMR numbers, and those using the tables should also include the stim value, which is included in def rating when you hover over you character sheet with a stim on.

I finally won my first Underworld relic. I was going with 1 EWH passive defense and 1 dreadguard healing / 1 dreadguard shield and absorb. I would like to keep my 1 EWH passive defense relic so which one works best with this one? I am awayre of the 6.9K ceiling and I also have the 1 EWH passive shield one. Should I take the proc def one and keep the EWH defence in the time being or I take the healing one?

I've not confirmed it for the tank gear but a guildy of mine can craft the Underworld DPS Aim earpiece. He was able to learn an improved one by re'ing what he crafted.

In this case he learnt one with +79 defense and is trying to see what other ones he can learn. From tooltips it looks like Underworld/Arkanian Implants could also produce the same

He learned the Redoubt prefix out of a crafted Underworld piece ? wow... that just sounds awesome :)

Hey dip, I have a question, is this for 2.2 or just the new 75 gear? My sin is still in 69s and trying to get 72s (dps issues...) so I'm not sure which stats I should be following.

this is for 75 gear. for lower stat budgets you can use keyboard ninja's threads, where he assumes that shield has a minimum at 40% of your stat budget. you will always be frustrated because the value of your shield will vary the optimal weight between absorb and defense. for juggs and shadows, you dont really want any more shield than what you get from enhancements, ears and implants.. while ensureing you total mitigation pool (which does not include endurance) remains as high as possible. vanguards like shield, so my numbers always hold for them.

passive shield is maybe the worst EWH relic for shadows (but its not that big of a difference in overall mitigation) ... if it was absorb or defense you could balance other pieces... but shield you are stuck with. you would end up with around 980 shield rating. which gives you 560 defense and the rest absorb for a 2700 budget. at 4500 incoming dps this comes to 1369 tdps (pre heals/absorb) (its 1368 for defense)

now if i assume you have 860 in shield and 120 less budget you get 595 defense and pre self heals dtps of 1387, 18 more dtps. the DG healy relic gives 21.96 hps (assuming 23s proc), so it seems better than the EWH shield relic.

if i just take the diff number of the EWH relic, and solve for where the dps makes it equal to a DG healy relic, i get 5100 dps.

Thanks for clearing that up. I will try to win another relic. So I have both Fortunate Redoubt and Mending. I am using atm a Def EWH with Fortunate Redoubt. I will test Dreadguard Heally relic with Fortunate Redoubt next time as well. Until I get the ephemeral one .

Forgive e my dumbness, but can i have some tips about relics? My guardian has an EWH defense static relic and an Arkanian fortunate redoubt. My PT has an Arkanian shield amplification and a Pvp defense proc. Should i change something?

the original post has relic info, where you can look at the diff column, to find the best relics.

your guardian is okay. the def proc is better because the static defense, over the shield proc one. pvp def proc works with the other proc? thought they fixed that. i wuild go with elite war hero and def proc for your pt.

Thanks Dip. Feel like you should have a donate button somewhere...

Yes, Pvp def proc works with pve absorb proc. Unfortunately i have lvled my PT after 2.0 so no static Pvp relics for him :(

very interesting. i ahve to run the numbers, but pve def proc plus a pvp absorb proc might be bis.

update: it looks like the pvp abs proc is bis over shield on use... assuming the 4.5 second bug isnt happening. if it is, then on use shield might be better for vanguards... its really close. this is an awesome option for those without the elite war hero though. i will update the OP.

i made a bug thread in the CS forums

You should make a thread in the Bug Reports forum ,Amber Green said she checks every threads in BR forum so there's a higher chance that she knows of the bug through BR forum than CS forum.

I really wish the devs would be a bit more explicit about defining the intended interaction of the various relics. Before, it wasn't a big deal because the proc categories were pretty well defined: you had the tank proc relic, the heal proc relic, and a damage proc relics. Now, with the addition of the other proc relics which have different proc *conditions*, it's a *really* wonky answer that we can't even be really sure if it's broken or not because we don't *know* if we're supposed to be able to use a def proc and an abs proc together.
