SWTOR - In Game Player Assistance Channel

Hai guys, I've recently just started up a chat channel in SWTOR. At the moment it can only be found on Star Forge Republic. This channel is dedicated to providing accurate and quick assistance to players, new and veteran. Do you need help completing a quest? Or maybe you aren't sure how certain mechanics work, how to do something etc. This channel is dedicated to providing in game fast customer service.

This isn't a replacement for a report center, however it is a helpline for players who are unsure about how to play. It will be moderated by 5 highly knowledgeable active players. They will represent the core of the channel, providing help when needed. Secondary it's a great space for other players to help and assist each other. There is no password to this channel and it's free to join no matter your subscription status, play time, age etc.

With a 0 tolerance policy and elitism and harassment will result in a warning and if repeated a kick. The use of words such as noob or harassment towards players not knowing mechanics will result in an instant ban. Interested in joining? or perhaps applying to become a moderator? To join in game type /cjoin SWTORassist and use /4 to talk in the channel. For moderator requests please message me personally on discord at Lucy#6212

To expand on Riku's reply; this was discussed in more detail with Lucy's Reddit post about this same topic. The gist of it is that the idea is good and for the most part can work great if it has a good core of volunteer helpers. The problem is with the moderation of the channel since the custom chat channel system has been broken for years.

None of the admin controls work for custom chat groups. When the owner of the channel logs out they lose ownership of the channel which moves to whoever the next person to login is. When they log out it moves onto the next person and so on. Another aspect is that when the last person in the group logs out then the channel is gone. When the next person logs in the system auto-recreates the channel from their stored details but this means that bans are not remembered. Custom channels are fine if you don't care about them being wide open but when it comes to channel member management you have no real control. For what Lucy proposes it should not be a big issue. If you have anyone being really bad in the channel then you can report them and hope that CS handle it.
