Hey folks,

Over the last year we’ve changed how we operate the Cartel Market based on your suggestions, including increasing the number of items and the frequency in limited time, direct purchase sales. Our goal is to give you more freedom to choose how you get your items. Want to get them out of packs? You still can! Want to get them directly? Now you can do that, too.

Starting with the Spring event on Tuesday, March 27th players will begin to see changes take shape in three key areas: direct sale of items, new items, and the next Cartel Market (CM) pack. This Spring event is a limited time event which will run from Tuesday, March 27th through Tuesday, April 17th. Check out each section below for specifics!

New Items

Been looking to get the new Dark Honor Guard’s Unstable Saber (it’s amazing) since the launch of Game Update 5.8 ‘Command Authority’? Well that saber along with all the new 5.8 Cartel Market items will be available for direct sale starting tomorrow, March 27th!

The Next CM Pack

Our new Cartel Pack will be called the “Ultimate Pack” will be available tomorrow as well and it works a bit differently than other packs:

  • Each pack contains 4 slots. Slots 1, 2, and 3 can contain any item ever released on the CM, including the new items coming in ‘Command Authority’ (Game Update 5.8), and any future items. Slot 4 will then contain either scrap, Companion Gifts, or a Dye Module. Dyes being in slot 4 is a big change from how it worked in older packs.
  • Pricing of the packs has been lowered; they can be purchased individually (200 CC), in a 10-pack Supercrate (1900 CC), or in a 30-pack Hypercrate (5400 CC).

Cartel Market Limited Time Sale

From Tuesday, April 3rd through Tuesday, April 17th almost every Cartel Market item will be available for direct sale! Maybe there is an item you have been waiting to see in our weekly sales, or, you just don’t want to throw the credits at it on the GTN. This will give you an opportunity to scoop that item up.

Let us know your thoughts! We appreciate your continued feedback.

all CM item since beginning of the game will be available to for direct sale?

for armor set, full set and/or separate?

Not all but definitely most. If there is something missing that you wish to see let us know and we can work on getting it added for a future direct sale.

For armor sets, direct sale is always all pieces from a given set, the new pack also drops full sets.

I can only hope that this cash grab is intended to fund extensive changes to the conquest system based upon player feedback before this game is down to eight active players.

Think of the year it took to change galactic command into something acceptable--except this time you probably only have a month or two of population losses (if that) to burn through before EA execs start asking uncomfortable questions (again, like they did for galactic command...remember that EA survey?)

So you didnt learn from the last time you changed the packs down to only 4 slots - And now you have a chance of NOT getting anything from the new packs.

Hey folks,

Each pack contains 4 slots. Slots 1, 2, and 3 can contain any item ever released on the CM

You also supposedly reduced the price, but thats the price they are at most of the time anyway - You just call it a sale!

Thank god Far Cry 5 is out will bide my time there for a while til somehting better comes along.

Does this include the armor sets currently up for preview in collections? I was assuming they were going to be available in the next pack. But if they're going to be up for direct sale, I am going to be thrilled. Trying to piece together these sets can be frustrating at times.

Why does this sound so familiar... ah yes, there were things called Chance Cubs, and now we gonna have Chance Packs! Because RNG is exciting! Because since we applied RNG both to gearing and Conquest, no reason we shouldn't apply it to our Packs even more then it's already applied. More importantly. with Cubes you had only 1 random item of all possible items, and now you will have 3!

Disgusting cashgrab. This, along with horrible treatment of Conquest, shows that Bioware's only priority is making as much money as possible without any actual effort on their part.

ROFLMAO. Yes. please don't throw credits at GTN, because we dont benefit from that! Throw real life money at us instead!

All I care about is a Kylo Ren Saber. As long as that is included in the sale event, I don't care about anything else.

You seriously would pay 4 months worth of subscription fees for a piece of eye candy?

It's stuff like this that makes it so they don't care about their subscriber income.

I already have 6000cc banked from months of inactivity. It's basically free to me.

But having it unlocked in collections for other toons would be fantastic. Same with Weapon Tunings. So this upcomnig sale better include them.

It's a fine sentiment, but the reality is: they will probably have a record quarter with this stunt. Expect it to repeat regularly.

This, unfortunately. People love their shiny pixels, and ready to pay for it. Regardless of what happens in other areas of the game.

I guess everyone can stand around on fleet with their shiny toys and not do anything because there's no reason to do anything. But hey, they can look good doing it.

Well, I guess we can all see where all the development resources need to fix conquest this week have gone.

Sorry Eric, but this is the most blatant example of how you guys value CM over every other part of the game. Even this post has more details and is better written than you provided for conquest.

The way Bioware is going, you won’t have anyone left to buy anything on the CM. Nobody wants to spend lots of money on digital items they may not be able to use in a couple of months as the game is dying with your continued neglect in favour of Cartel market.

Honestly, this post and change is a slap on the face for many of us with it being so soon after this conquest release and it not being fixed yet.

If you’d spent the extra time fixing it this week instead of getting this CM change ready, you may have had people resub who have cancelled over the conquest patch. Bioware, your priorities are completely backwards and you’ve made the decision easier with this post to not to resub.
