Not equipping any gear or using lvl 30+ pve gear instead of lvl 50 pvp gear for pvp?

My main is in a mix of WH/EWH, need it to be competitive and had to have it if I wanted to do ranked. Have always thought the gear grind in PvP is a waste because it makes PvP really unbalanced. But I have never twinked an alt. It was hit 10 and PvP the rest the way, buying level 20 and 40 PvP year. And if I came across snarky or what ever, that was not my intent. I apologize. NEWSFLASH: GOING NAKED IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO GET HIGHER STATS IN 50 PVP.

 

I've been doing WZ as a 50 for the past 3 hrs and I'M HAVING A BLAST! Seriously this is some of the most fun, balanced pvp ever. No, I'm not being sarcastic. Yes, I removed all my WH/EWH mods gear etc, replaced with lvl 30 greens, but then i found some of my lvl 40+ gear was BETTER than the lvl 30 greens. I'm still experimenting but it's really trial and error at this point. Seriously guys stop QQing so much and l2adapt. Now even lowbies can use their same gear and be on par with lvl 50s. Why is that so bad?

 

Newsflash numbskull there is no incentive to grind gear the way it is. Dear god its like banging your head on a wall with some buffoons. I know for a fact you can get just as high stats naked I have been testing it for hours. It isnt bad when you join the crowd and go naked or similar but why have commendations otherwise. Doesn't make sense.

Been here since launch and as much as I hate to admit it, the PTS is nothing more than a PR vehicle for bloggers and guide authors. Rarely have I seen monumental changes in direction from proposed builds. This is no different.

 

It always seems they are afraid to admit something might not work right, and launch it anyway, knowing it has major issues.

Personally, I rather for things to remain status quo versus something this, Its ok to scrap a plan if it sucks.... Like my engineering teacher use to say; "If you screw up, sometimes its better to start over!"

 

Note to Mods/Devs:

 

I have asked a few times that you allow players to vote on proposed changes prior to implementation and I will ask again.

 

Before you do a monumental change, allow players a vote so at least you can have a tangible number to reference to for a change.... You have everyone's email.

 

Instead of using Social Media to ask the questions you do, how about you take polls on in game changes?

As of pre 2.0 50 was the highest level, it's only added on 5 levels for those that have actually purchased the expansion. There are plenty of people who have not. I wouldn't exactly call 50 PvP low level.

 

There's still going to be loads of people playing the 50 bracket even after the 14th, the whole naked rubbish needs sorted asap.

 

Low level is 10-54. No one should expect BW to cater to people who didnt buy the expansion.

I agree. And if this does not stop, I see no reason to be a subscriber.

 

As I wait for the game to download and update. I have been reading the pvp forums on Bolster and other players thoughts. It seems to me that this game have become the classic case of Socialism/ Communism but in a video game format, i.e. make everyone equal. Take from the pvp players that spend 100's of hours grinding WH or EWH gear, and now taking that gear (or making it worthless) and giving someone that doesn't work as hard a better advantage. Take from the producers(rich) and give to the non-producers (poor) = Socialism/Communism. I see that in this game every time I play, reward everyone no matter what they do. There are no winners or losers. And if something is difficult make it easy for everyone to achieve. This game will not last long if they don't fix the Bolster.

Just tested with a lvl 32 lowbie in quest junk gear.

As you can see, the stats improve slightly taking off the gear even with a lowbie. So it isn't just pvp gear with expertise that is throwing things out.

 

It's just amazing how this could happen after we were told how intelligent and adaptive the new bolster would be

Blizzard does not abandon gear on upgrades..you can still use it and compete.. EWH gear is trash as of today.. there is not even a trade in program to upgrade to the newer gear.. Why cant we trade EWH in for the low level 55 gear at least.. It has better stats..

 

LOL, no. You can't compete. Not realistically. although I can't speak for anything past early Cataclysm.

Well, those that think they are awesome at PvP should have no problems with lowbies now!

 

If you aren't posting 400k+ dmg/heals then the problem might be you...

You know, guys, I think I am looking at this in a new light.

 

There will be ways to get the 'best' gear in PvP, just it won't be conventional. Instead of getting gear with better stats, your goal is now to see exactly what level and combination of ****** greens gives you the most stat boost and wear -those- into PvP.

I disagree. I was one of the testers for Makeb, and the communication there was stellar. feedback resulted in changes fairly quickly, and the back-n-forth dialog was great.

 

unfortunately, they either do not have the same setup for pvp, or the pvp test team just really suck at feedback.

It would be fine if they would leave this group alone with wh/ewh (stats adapted for current system). Instead, there is nothing to spend your comms for. Won't do anything. Good marketing strategy can manipulate the population to get desired election results. Just look at the previous 2 horrible presidents that were able to get re-elected

 

Or, just look at the number of people on this forum that think 2.0 was a good thing.

I ran to the GTN and bought some lvl 9 to 15 PvE gear for my focus guardian. I even wore a chest piece with the incorrect stats and still smash crit over 7.5k dispatch @ 6k and all other hard hitting abilities @3.5 to 5.5k respectively. Edited April 9, 2013 by Chimerako

No no, So far very few people have seen, or know much about the stunning PVP in level 55 warzones; when you get to the high levels prepare to be blown away! In addition to that high level PVP content, expect new Warzones and new PvP features on a regular basis.

Just wanted to drop in and say I enjoy the slightly lower ttk. It takes a bit of getting used to/strat changing, but overall I think it was a positive change. Now admittedly I have been pvp'ing in my pve gear, since my pvp gear ~same level w/ same aug's (really close in overall item level) - isn't bolstering well.

 

I don't think the system knows to bolster the non-expertise stats on wh/ewh gear more, because expertise is part of that stat budget (and it will not bolster you over the expertise cap). An easier remedy might be to lower the item level of the mods in the WH/EWH to bring them in line with their pve stats (kinda like the new pvp gear) so bolster works better.

Well fixes are one thing, but actual departures of proposed changes are another thing entirely. I am assuming you are talking about PvE, but in affect the equivelent would be asking the team to remove a boss fight because its bugged to hell... Instead of launching it bugged, they probably would fix it prior to launch, but it seems PvP is not afforded such luxuries...

wait till 55 to see how that pvp gear falls with respect to the max lvl pvp gear - fine tuning the leveling bracket isn't as critical
