Is it possible to enable the sound to remain on when the window isn't the active window? I run a 2 monitor setup, and this sure would be nice for my multitasking ways!

I don't think so. try " play in window mode" ?

Yeah I like to chat on im or whatever while people are talking, wasn't an issue in beta since I could still hear them but now it mutes. Wonder if there's an ini setting to change this.

Agreed, this is by far the most annoying feature I have found in this game. Cannot understand why it would be left out. Especially annoying when using both monitors but has to be doubly frustrating if you only have one.

Any Devs can get on this topic, would like to know if theres any fix on this.

I really wish this was in the game too. I like to listen to quest dialog while I'm surfin the web on my second monitor. But I can't do this in it's current setup.

It used to be this way, as recently as two builds ago in the beta, now its not. What changed?

I agree, it's frustrating to not be able to do anything else during a long speech if all I want to do is quickly check me email or chat with someone outside of the game.

I would also like to say this needs fixing.

Not sure if this is the same issue (I am guessing it is); when using vent I can hear things just fine but the key I use (and I tried a few) for PTT is not being recognized - i.e. I cannot use PTT to respond in vent.

 

I am guessing it has something to do with the SWTOR client as I tried all three screen (full, windowed, etc) options.

 

If anyone has a work around (beyond dual monitors) I would be interested to know what they have done.

Try running vent as an admin (right click the icon) then PTT should work.

 

But back to the OP's topic, I would also like the ability (preferably in-game) to hear the game in the background, or when I mouse over to my second monitor.
